    Thinking of Lainey today,

Very frosty this morning but thawed quickly so no problem on way to knitting, I was first there today which is very unusual!

JackieO, I hope that Ben and his girlfriend enjoy their weekend in Dublin. If asked I would advise that they take in a tour to either Glendalough or the National stud.....Cliffs of Moher are indeed spectacular but a minimum of 3 hours from Dublin, which would severely cut in to a weekend.

Dinner tonight will be steak, potatoes and whatever veg I fancy when I start to cook, pears (oh opened a large tin yesterday for some reason) custard and cream.

    Keep warm and safe everybody

Good evening everyone. Thanks to nmlc and hugs to those that need them.
I've been up from silly o'clock as I was getting picked up for a hospital appoitment at 8am and it takes me ages to get ready and of course I woke up repeatedly during the night scared I'd slept in:(
I had the full range of balance testing which was hard going the worst being strapped into a contraption like a mini "Ribtickler" (used to hate this at the fairground) except instead of there being an illusion of movement the earth actually did move  (and the walls and the ceiling) and to keep the fairground analogy going afterwards I felt as though I had stepped off of the waltzers onto a bouncy castle LOL.
Test results were as expected and my balance is completely shot, thankfully they can hopefully through vestibular rehab improve this a bit but unfortunately they can't stop the Meniere's itself which leaves things pretty up in the air re getting back my work. So a bitter/sweet kind of day .....
Needless to say lunch was a dry roll and a cupasoup and keeping it simple with fishfingers, beans and oven chips later. It's pretty cold here and think it may freeze later so that should keep the chills out and I'm going to indulge in a large glass of red :)
Hope everyone has a good evening x

Thank you very much everyone for all your kind words and thoughts.

Today was tough at times but also a real celebration of a life so very well lived, darling Mum had told us exactly what she wanted so we just had to put in all into action.
A private cremation first and then on to the church for a service of thanksgiving, it was packed to the rafters and they were lifted by the first Hymn, Jerusalem and boy did the ladies from the WI do it proud :) Tributes were made, poems were read and all the music that DM wanted was played. So many family members and friends at the wake, so many memories shared, as perfect as it could be really.

Enjoy your wine, car Inc, (my tablet thinks that you must be a motor conglomerate) you surely deserve it after the day you have had.

I have had an easy day. A friend picked me up and took me out to lunch - two lunches for a tenner - so I had lasagne with garlic bread and salad. Very nice it was too.
The pub was opposite Aldi's so it would have been rude not to visit it. I was very restrained and sensible but succumbed to a £2 bunch of pink tulips. I love tulips. Sustenance for the soul, I call it.

So glad all went well Lainey. Just relax and enjoy the memories that you have shared with your family. The sadness can wait for a bit.

    Evening all
Just a quick one from me as I feel sooooo tired. Managed to tear myself away from the shops and got in at 3pm. Have done nothing this afternoon except make a cheese and ham toastie as I feel awful. Going to bed really early tonight to try to fight off whatever it is.
Haven't read through posts yet will catch up tomorrow - I hope.
Lainey I'm glad everything went as well as it could.

Have a good evening all, I'm off to my bed now.
