Switching to 2 new current accounts (TSB and Bank of Scotland)

Options
I have just opened a TSB Classic Plus account after clicking through the link on MSE for the £125 intro payment (actually applied for this account the day before they started this deal, although closed it and re-applied to get the deal which the bank said should work and were good about).

I have registered for online banking, opted for paperless correspondence and paid in over £500. Now to get the £125 I believe that I have to FULLY switch away from my old current account.

There's a but, I also plan to open one (to start with, eventually three) Bank of Scotland Vantage accounts for the 3% on up to £5000. As the min monthly pay in is £1000 I will have my salary paid in to this account.

So my question is, if I do a partial switch of my salary and two DD's to the Bank of Scotland account then what remains in the old current account can be FULLY switched to TSB (at least another two DD's) and fulfill the criteria for the £125?

I will ensure that there is a regular payment of at least £500 into TSB to get the benefits and with the additional Bank of Scotland accounts that their criteria is satisfied.

    DDs

You don't have to do a "partial switch" of your salary (is it even possible?).
It has to be just an account credit, not necessarily the salary.

If you switch an account with two DDs to TSB, I don't see any problem and don't understand the question.

    The answer is yes.

Grumbler, OP is doing an 'old fashioned' switch of their salary (OP will arrange this) and all but 2 of their DDs (via a partial, ie non-CASS, switch) to BoS. What's left will then be CASS switched to TSB.

    Thanks for your response Grumbler.

By partial switch I mean all of my salary and some direct debits to Bank of Scotland, which will leave some direct debits for what will be a full switch to TSB (as far as they are concerned).

I could fully switch everything to TSB and then set up the bank of Scotland account but then would I be able to transfer direct debits over straight away. Also setting a standing order to pay in £1000 to Bank of Scotland from TSB seems a faff when it can be paid direct to BoS by my employer. I have another £500+ credit stream that can satisfy the TSB pay in.

*EDIT* Thanks YorkshireBoy that is what I meant

Just phone up the originators of the (relevant) DDs and give them your new BOS details.

Why waste time with an old style partial switch?
