Thanks for the warning - I knew they were expensive but not that expensive! And ignore all the usuall know-it-alls on here.

Don't bother with Ofcom, they are useless.

Yeah what a mug the OP is!! Spending EIGHT POUNDS on a phone call! Life savings down the drain no doubt.

Still, nothing compared to a mate of mine. He went on holiday and changed money at the Post Office! He believed the "commission free" bull :rotfl:And when he was there he spent on a credit card which wasn't a zero fee one!! Cost him over £100 in all in forex fees and exchange rate markup! ONE HUNDRED. Over 10 times the OP.

And he still hasn't learnt. The other day he walked into a bar he's never been in before, and order a drink without first checking the bar tariff :eek:. He was charged £8 for a pint!!

There's just no helping some people.

Thank you, OP. I knew there would be a charge but that does seem to be outrageous. I would have guessed £1-2.00 but clearly way out. I will never use them now and wonder how many other people would once they have been stung once.

Being on the website wouldn't help anyone who made the call.

I never use the service but I would expect to be told the charges by the 118 person if I asked to be connected.

If they didn't tell you the charges it is underhand behaviour.

As the 118118 annoying pathetic adverts are so frequent on Freeview channels, it is no wonder that they have to charge so much.
