Sky automatically renewed contract

Hello. I have the Variety type of Sky TV. One year ago Sky tried to put my price up a lot. I phoned them and said I couldn't afford to pay more than £25.00 a month.

I got an email and a letter saying Sky have automatically renewed my contract for 18 months My current price is £24.00 a month. If contract will I be safe from price rises?

Yet another with the letter, where's mine Sky

There is no doubt small print on the letter although I suspect the answer would be 'No'.

Do you know if this is an 18 month contract from 1 year ago (so only 6 months left) or is it 18 months from now?

In short, no. Sky reserve the right to increase prices at any time by up to 9.9%, without the user having the right to cancel.

Are you sure the letter doesn't say they have extended your discount for 18 months, rather than your contract?

Also, the Sky deals tend to be x% off the full price rather than £x a month. So you will be hit with price rises when they occur, just not the full amount.
