We are flying to Toronto at Easter, booked in premium economy.
I would like to upgrade the return flight to business class, due to my a chronic pain condition I think it might be better to lay flat rather than try to sleep sitting up. To upgrade the return flight only they want £744 for 2 passengers, would it be cheaper to upgrade at the airport on the way back or would you book it now. I have never done this before, so I am a bit clueless as to whether you would get a better deal at check in.
Thank you

£372 per person sounds quite a good price, but bear in mind that Toronto-London is only about 6 and a half to 7 hours in the air.
London-Bangkok on Thai used to be around £600 at check-in, but that's a longer flight.
What's the published fare difference between premium and club?
Edit...I've just looked a BA's prices. Premium looks to be very expensive. That's why the upgrade cost seems reasonable!0 -

That's cheap for an upgrade to CW. If an upgrade is offered at the airport I wouldn't expect it to be much less than that.0 -
there is a report from 2015 of WT+ to CW being offered at the airport for 850CAD (there is no guarantee there will be offers on the day) I would take the seats now0

Thank you so much for your responses, I am going to take the plunge and upgrade us, but I think I'll keep it as a surprise for DHFibro-Warrior0

Definitely buy at that price. YYZ has a nice BA lounge, and pretty good pre flight dining. Also nice to get breakfast and a shower when you land.Legal team on standby0

Take them before they go - that is a very reasonable price.0

do it before, leaving it til the airport you run the risk of no seats left0
