Amazon appstore accidental purchase

Hello
My 2 year old accidentally bought a football game app for £8.99 this morning, for her Amazon Fire. Paid by debit card. Amazon states that it is non returnable. Surely this can't be right? Is it worth contacting customer service?

I have all the usual parental controls but my daughter went in through my own profile, where one click is set up.

TIA

Speak to Amazon, I know that Apple do refund accidental purchases from their AppStore...

Buy her a kindle for kids. She would have to know your password to access your profile and all content is tailored to the child's age group. Plus a 2 year guarantee of replacement, even if your child steps on it or throws it at the wall.

Take better care of your security on the device. not having to input a password on a kids device is a recipe for disaster, as you have just found out.

You can have all the parental controls you want but if you don't have any security set on your own profile then it's pretty much useless in terms of safeguards.

You can try asking but don't be surprised if Amazon refuse to refund you.
  • I've had a refund from Amazon before for a Kindle book that I bought in error, requested it within a day or so of buying it.

They offer refunds on book purchases, but not music or apps.

Why does she not haver her own kindle/tablet ?

Should have taken precautions, I dont have 1 myself but surely you can log out of the store or take other preventative measures.

I did manage to get a refund on a digital album Id bought in error, wasnt expecting it but thought Id give it a try.

Was a few years ago so maybe its been tightened up.

Maybe she didn't have her own because she's only two. I agree with the other comments re: password protection etc. There is no way a two year old should have been able to access / order anything from anywhere.
