PIP has put my life on hold

Options
Waiting for PIP is awful. I am currently wait for my MR since 19/01/17.

I feel my life has been put on hold waiting for the outcome. I suffer from (amongst other things) bipolar and depression, I lay in bed all day and have no motivation or energy to do anything. I am just waiting to hear back and I am so scared and worried, my DLA has already stopped :(
The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer - I was in my late 20s when I figured out what this meant.

I neither take or enter agreements which deal with interest. I dont want to profit from someone's misery.

I know it's easier said than done but worrying won't change anything at all.
I'm sorry you're feeling so low.
You haven't wanted to say what your outcome actually was or your circumstances but please don't spend all day worrying.
Have you got anyone to talk to? I find the Samaritans very good for just some non-judgemental talking, they don't really advise just let you talk.
Master Apothecary Faranell replied, “I assure you, overseer, the Royal Apothecary Society dearly wishes to make up for the tragic misguidance which ended so many lives. We will cause you no trouble. We seek only to continue our research in peace".
  • I feel for you. I battle with the same feelings everyday. All I can suggest is try and use this to motivate you to get up and do something. Try and reconnect with professionals if you aren't currently seeing anybody. Get down the GP surgery and ask for referrals if necessary.

Try and start thinking about and preparing for appealing should the MR fail.

  • I know how you feel!

I am just finishing the paperwork for the transfer from DLA to PIP.

The preliminary phone call was bad enough....and I didn't even make that (my Mum/carer did it for me, I just had to say my name over the phone).

I was on an 'indefinite' award for DLA - Lower Rate both components...and by y own study of the regs, I 'should' be a clear 'enhanced' for care and 'standard' for mobility....but who knows what the official decision will say.

It is such a stressful time! I wish they understood what they put us through!

OP, have a hug!...And make sure you are taking whatever meds you are prescribed!....Do you have someone who can come and sit with you for a half hour? Just to get you out of the bedroom and into a chair for a cuppa and a chat ?

Look after yourself...and consider getting help if the MR should not go in your favour...especially if you need to go to tribunal (you may wish for someone to go with you)

I wouldn't be too sure about what you are hoping for. The vast majority (about 50%) receive the same under PIP that did with DLA. In that case it is equivalent to standard mobility only.
25% get a better result and the other 25% don't get anything.
I have High Mobility & Middle Care which is an indefinite award. Looking at the descriptors of PIP I doubt very much that I will get anything from PIP.
It's the way PIP works V how DLA worked.

All you can do is hope for the best but prepare yourself for the worst. Try saving your DLA payments for a while to get used to how you will cope with the possible lower income.

Why have they stopped your DLA? I was under the impression that the current DLA would carry on until a decision on PIP was made.

Because a decision has already been made. The op is already at the Mandatory Recon stage.
  • I have had the MR back and I now need to go to court. Gosh, if only the minsters knew how horrible the PIP process was.

I agree, PIP has been a nightmare, made my life 10 times worst than before the switch from DLA. Am waiting tribunal now, but some days I just question is it worth fighting the DWP and carrying on.

They are absolute awful what they are doing to disabled people.
