Can I return 5kg of chocolate?

Therefore Lidl's the higher cocoa content chocolate is £7.90 per kilogram.
The OP bought 5kg for £22.50.
Had she bought the higher cocoa content from Lidl it would've cost £39.50.
The OP paid £22.50 for 5kg of 55% chocolate - the equivalent from Lidl at 39p per bar equates to £19.50 for 5kg. Therefore buying from Lidl would have been cheaper.
No clue how much the OP would have paid for the 70% chocolate she wanted, but I certainly haven't found a high street store selling it for less than Lidl. I've been making lots of chocolate creations of late so I've been buying a lot of the stuff.0 -
Thanks for the discussions!
I know it was my fault for not checking properly, but at the same time I do think their website could have been clearer. I definitely wouldn't expect to be able to return an opened bag, but if they'd been able to exchange for a higher percentage, I would have liked the option to be able to do so, especially having looked at other websites, for example Hotel Chocolat allows returns, and they have filled chocolates, with an even shorter expiry date. And a proper Terms & Conditions section on their website!
In terms of brownies, not to open another debatebut I'm very firmly on the dark, gooey, fudgey side. All the recipes I've ever used are based on 70% chocolate, and you can't just substitute 55% with no impact, because that means more cocoa butter / sugar compared to the original recipe and will affect consistency etc. I have tried one recipe which I found which called for 55% chocolate, but I find it too sweet.
So I'll take that suggestion of Lidl's and try the local Aldi's! (hopefully just as good, there's no Lidl's locally)0 -

You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

Reduce the amount of sugar in the recipe then, until you get an acceptable taste. This is becoming a classic first world problem!0 -

Are you trying to come between a bride and her preferred chocolate, on her wedding day!

A "first world problem" on a forum based in a first world country (although a few people will have a difference of opinion on that) and which is viewed and posted on mainly by first world residents.
