PPI with no paperwork and on a Debt Management Plan

Options
Hi, long time since I was on here....

I am convinced I was missold PPI on at least one of the many credit cards I have had in the past.

I am now on a DMP with StepChange and have been on it for at least 4 years now.

I realise any successful claim and the money goes towards paying off my debts to the creditors.

I do not have any paperwork though, and since being on the DMP the debts have changed hands to different companies.

I know I have had cards from MBNA, EGG, Barclaycard, Opus, Capital One and the Royal Bank of Scotland previously.

How can you make a claim for being missold PPI when the debts have changed hands several times please?

Seeing Martin Lewis on ITV last week has given me the kick up the butt I need to start a potential claim but I have no idea where to begin :(

Thank you to anyone in advance who replies and not lecture me.

  • Contact the original lenders and work your way from there.

Any ppi charged on a CC would be itemised, on a separate line, on each monthly statement.
    Do you still have any?

Thanks. Not sure some of them still exist, i.e. OPUS credit card but will look.

Do I have to send £10 off with each letter also? Will cost me a fortune if I do :(

No cheque book either with my basic bank account

No original paperwork/statements kept. Got rid of them all when I went on a DMP as didn't think I'd need them, plus no one had heard of PPI mis-selling when I start my DMP

PPI misspelling existed long before the 4 years that you've had you're DMP.

    It's funny you've misspelled "miss-selling" with "missspelling" ;)

OP - you can use a banker's draft if you don't have a cheque book though you may have to pay your bank for this. You don't need to do DSAR for each lender though, it's not necessary to make a complaint

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

It's very necessary to make a complaint, but it's not necessarily necessary to request a SAR! ;)

Eh cutting words out of a sentence so it's out of context :p
