Moving home and to fixed price supplier at the same time

We've just go the following advice from Bulb:
Dont switch immediately but
1. call vendors incumbant supplier - give readings - let then know you will be switching. This is in case these are any disputes etc. Dont sign up to anything.
2. After a couple of weeks, call Bulb to switch.
They will start projections based on our previous usage in old home, rather than vendors . Though in this case properties are in a similar ball park..
You call the Deemed Supplier to ask them to supply you with domestic energy: they will require your details and meter readings. It's got nothing to do with disputes. You are then free to initiate a switch to another supplier which will take anything between 17 and 35 days. You will be billed for energy supplied by the Deemed Supplier until the transfer goes through.
Check that your new property is not supplied by an Independent Gas Transporter (IGT) as Bulb are one of the few suppliers that charge extra - £100 a year above the cost of your tariff. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
