Gearbox failed after 8 Months

What rights do I have from a garage dealership that fitted a factory supplied automatic transmission which completely failed after 8 months?
They state in a leaflet that all parts are covered by a manufacturers guarantee for parts and labour.

Depends on who paid.

If it was fitted under warranty, and less than 8 months warranty remained on the car, then it won't be covered, but you would have a case for claiming the car is of unsatisfactory quality.

If you paid for it, then look to the manufacturers terms, most likely 12 months with a maximum mileage.

Thanks. Leaflet non specific on length of guarantee but I paid with a credit card too.

Have you gone back to the dealership who fitted it yet?
