Good afternoon
My last fixed plan for gas and electricity has just come to a end on 28/1/17. I'm a little late in looking for another deal but feeling a bit worried moving away to ones I've not heard of.
I've been with eon for years. I do have a smart meter. No economy 7.
Who can you recommend for the following yearly usage please?
Gas 11798kwh for year
Electricity 4399 kWh for the year.
Thank you in advance

Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

Deals vary with postcode. Using your consumption and MY postcode, the cheapest deal based on your usage would be Iresa Flex 4 at £952.52 per year.
You will have to read your smart meter as it will not communicate with other suppliers. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Are there any to avoid? I've also got a smart meter will all suppliers take me on as a new customer? Or will I have to stay with eon?Things will get better day by day.0

Your smart meter will not stop you from switching but it will not communicate with your new supply. It will have to be read by you and the supplier. Suppliers are now required to read meters once a year. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

What I've done so far - get a list of quotes, then work through them looking at -
[EDITED - added MSEs own poll and advice on Which members poll as suggested by Eric]
- MSE Energy Poll
- Which energy company satisfaction survey
- https://uk.trustpilot.com/ (bear in mind number of reviews and that people are more likely to complain than praise - anything about 6 is probably OK.)
- You may want to check they are listed as Members of Ombudsman but most returned my comparison searches seem to be
You may also want to see how easy it is to call them and ask for tariff advice and see how you get on. (though bear in mind you'll more likely be talking to sales team rather than customer services)0 -

Did you find any from an Ofgem accredited comparison site that were not (but were providing you a competitive quote)?0 -

Nope - all were members that I checked! I just saw that advice on another thread so threw it in my post for completeness!?
In fact, it looks like if EasySwitch Guarantee is important to anyone looking, its probably best to start there as it is only a handful of companies.0 -

I wouldn't pay much attention to Trustpilot reviews to be honest. A better guide, in my opinion, is either the MSE poll or Which? reviews.

According to Ofgem figures, of the almost six million households that switched supplier in 2014 the number of botched switches was only 1 per cent. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Very useful, Bulb and Flow getting good reviews at both MSE and TrustPilot , npower & Scottish Power both scoring badly , but e-On doing fair at MSE and very badly at TrustPilot. It seems like TrustPilot just amplifies the bad reviews in comparison to a more balanced poll. TrustPilot may scare someone away from a company that is actually above average. Conversely if there are enough reviews doing well on TrustPilot, that seems like a good high pass filter.0
