I bought an Eco drive watch from Citizen as I got fed up of buying batteries.
Retailer took out spare link and I put them in a "safe place" . After wearing it for a while I realised it is too tight so obviously I cant find the link .
Off the the interweb to search. Lots of results on Ebay but not the type I want and they are all £10 to £20 each. I rested and when I got fed up again I started searching in earnest and finally found Citizen UK . I rang and gave them some details and they said they had it but that they would only supply to a retailer.
I went to the nearest and gave them the part number and they ordered it and fitted it for £4.40.
Wow.
Good job all round.

That's great.
I love Citizen eco-drive watches.
I ordered one on-line from Ernest Jones & collected it in store.
They sized it for me for free (I'd expected them to, really) but I also took along another 2 that I'd ordered from a totally different online shop & she kindly did those for free too.0 -
How quickly are you getting through batteries with your watches? I've recently had just the 4th battery in 19 years put in my Tag Heuer.0

You get through a lot more batteries in budget watches.
Also it isnt so much the cost of replacement of the battery. Loads of places will do you a cheap replacement but to get the watch ( assuming waterproof as I need ) sealed properly to retain its waterproof rating costs a bomb.

I think we're talking about something very different here. :cool:0 -
I have been quoted large sums.
Have a look here

Usually cant be done on premesis according to jewelers

How much does your battery replacement cost each time to gtee it is still waterproof
A lot. Previously it has been sent back to Switzerland to be done, this time I took it to another jeweller (having moved since the last replacement) who said they could do it on the premises with pressure testing for £70 or without the testing for £10. As the most submerging in water it ever gets is doing the washing up I decided to risk it this time, so far all is OK, but I may pay the full price next time to get new seals.0 -
I've no idea.So what is it in a cheaper watch that eats through the batteries more quickly?
All my watches are Eco-drive or Seiko Solar.
The OP made the statement so is probably best able to say why.You get through a lot more batteries in budget watches.
My point was simply there's a difference in the 'innards' of a cheap watch and your Tag.
At least I'd expect so, otherwise you've been ripped off big-style.

HOW much????? We do them on the premises (including pressure test) for less than a quarter of that - including free coffee / tea / hot chocolate while you wait if you have nothing better to do!0
