Need to be able to copy PDF link without it opening in full without being clicked

A few years ago, I wrote and had an article which was published. I have just hopefully created in in PDF form and its on my desktop. What I want to be able to do, is lift the link and place it either in an email or forum, without it opening in full, without it being clicked, simply because it is four A4 pages long. How can…
