Need to be able to copy PDF link without it opening in full without being clicked

Options
A few years ago, I wrote and had an article which was published. I have just hopefully created in in PDF form and its on my desktop. What I want to be able to do, is lift the link and place it either in an email or forum, without it opening in full, without it being clicked, simply because it is four A4 pages long. How can I do this please?

Is that a ludicrously convoluted way of saying 'I want to make my document available on the internet'?

Stick it in Google Drive and share it with view only rights; you'll get a link that you can email or put in a forum post.

Yea, you are right, but Ive never produced a pdf before a few minutes ago. Whilst waiting, I somehow did the same and have it in google docs now and put a second link on desktop. So if I rt click on the link there are three options, one being specific people, but feel this isnt right. I just want to place the link into the body of a post I want to write, and give the reader the option to rclick and read if they want.

PS, I right clicked on icon and went to my email account, prepared a draft, copied to main body, and instead of clickable link to open, the complete article appeared, so Im doing something wrong

PPS, done it, thanks, confused docs with drive. I put the link on here, but noted it gave other stuff as well, ie my google mail id

So lets start again. I have an article saved in libre office. Ideally I want to reduce it to a clickable link that I can place in a post in a FB forum. I don't want anything else to show. Somehow when using google docs and drive, when I submitted the link, other info was readable, ie my gmail address.

Wont work in the way your thinking.

The link you have on your desktop is not what you can use, because if you were to link to that you would be trying to give people access to your desktop (which you do not want).

Use google drive (available from a free gmail account) , upload it, share it then copy and paste the link in the forum post.

Better still, upload the libre office document itself to google drive where you will be able to edit that online and then save that as a PDF which you can also share.
    Simples.
