Cooking sausages question..

When you do sausages wrapped round with a strip of bacon - do you fry them all first? Or put them in a piedish in the oven raw and cook them that way? I've decided to try and cook today :eek:

just wrap the bacon round the sausage and bung them in the oven mar. Dont do any faffing about with frying first.

Go Mar! Enjoy them, sausages always taste good served with ka!e.
  • I second Monna's method. Put them in preferably an enamel pie dish. You can turn them over when one side looks done if you want.

Makes me feel like having some too, but I just used the last of the bacon for breakfast.
  • I just wrap some bacon round the sausages, slap them on a baking tray or roasting dish & bung them in the oven, Wish I was having them now!

Thanks everybody. Bloody disgrace that I'm 67 and still canny cook a sausage! I sometimes do try to do better - but we have found through horrible experience that it's best if I know my limitations :D
Having this for dinner with cauli and brocc (frozen from the freezer, not panic-bought in a scrum in asda lol). And home made chicken soup.

Depends on the size of the sausage for chipolatas wrapped in bacon I cook for 15-20 mins then turn and give another 15-20 mins, For larger ones I tend to cook for 30 mins turn then check after 20 mins. I cook at 160 degrees (fan oven)
