Brunch was lovely with DGS and wife, and we had a long natter about their impending move to New York.I shall, along with the rest of the family miss them dreadfully, but bless, I can facetime them, so its not too bad and he will have occasional trips back home at least.
Just relaxing with my feet up until I go to youngest DD's around 5.30 as I always have Sunday dinner there.
Re faces I too am not good with faces although pretty good with names, just can't seem to match them together at times:) even years ago I walked past my OH in the High Street once when he had gone off to buy something and we had been married over 20 years by then
The most embarrassing moment once was when I was looking in a shop window and he had wandered off somewhere and I grabbed what I thought was his hand and drgged this complete stranger in the shop to buy something:o,not even looking at this poor bloke but saying come on I have got to buy this:o Took me awhile to live that one down :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thank you for all the reassuring posts about not remembering stuff, I know that a lot of people have what are called Senior Moments, and I know I have had a lot of stress and have quite a lot on my plate. So it is really good to be reminded, sometimes I just get myself into a tizz for nothing. Thank you good friends! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

Afternoon everyone.
Thanks to karcher for starting the thread and hugs to those that need them.
Another one here with a disrupted sleep thanks to pooch needing out and son forgetting his keys (at separate times of course:mad:)
Tested my replacement of the replacement vacuum packer and thankfully it's working- don't think I could have faced having to get back in touch with the company again  That said the woman I was dealing with couldn't have been more helpful - they have a real asset there. I did email their HQ extolling her customer service
Elderly pooch had his bath and subsequent mad half hour and has spent the rest of the day snoozing (and snoring loudly) in his freshly changed bed. Son has now returned to "Geordie-land" having liberated a good supply of fruit from my basket and a couple of bits from the cupboardI don't mind he can have anything he wants -it is always lovely to see him and he is very obliging at doing the chores I can't manage
Weather has been mixed here, wet and cold this morning, sunny and cold this afternoon but now looking a bit murky and temperature has dropped even further.
Had one of these "why didn't I think of it before moments" earlier, for months I have struggled to lug my Henry Hoover around while holding onto a walking frame. Now, I keep a lightweight vax upright upstairs but never thought about using it . Suddenly struck me that I might find it easier to use so son fetched it earlier and yes it is:D just need to motivate myself to give the place a decent going over now :rotfl:
Simple meal tonight of baked chicken thighs with a sweet potato baked in beside them with creamed cabbage and peas, a nice easy meal with very little clearing up. I might also make some mushroom soup but still have some of last week's in the freezer if I don't get round to it.
Hope everyone has a good evening x0 -

I can't do faces at all; never have been able to. But it transpires I have mild prosopagnosia. The most embarrassing event due to this, at least of recent times, was when I completely blanked Mr LW's best pal - the chap we have round here when we have a dog staying, to get his "dog fix" - because I simply didn't recognise him. Problem is, I see two eyes, a nose and a mouth, but no other real detail; I have to make a conscious effort to remember something significant about a person, other than their face. And if someone changes their hairstyle, I have zero chance of recognising them next time I see them!
Me also Lamewolf. Very embarrassing it has been at times too.All that clutter used to be money0 -
Thanks caronc........rings many bells with me!
