O/S Daily Thread Sunday 5th February

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning
Well I slept through until 6 this morning..not great but better than the night before. I was thoroughly exhausted though after all my exploits yesterday though.
So exhausted in fact that my prepped pizza with extra mushrooms, onions and tomatoes is still sat, uncooked, on the shelf in the oven......Just ended up not fancying it...Trouble is, I'm not sure what to do with it now
Today I plan on going for a swim and that is about it. All the cleaning and washing was done yesterday. I may have a go at kondoing my underwear draw after some kind soul on that thread explained how this was done...I must say it does sound like a good way to stash ones smalls
Hope everyone is well, and you all have a good day.
Take care folks'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

Morning KARCHER and thanks for the start. I woke at 5.00 for the loo and that was that - wide awake. Bah!
It feels quite nippy this morning after a mild springlike day yesterday. Just a shame we were otherwise engaged and couldn't take advantage of it to tidy the garden up a bit.
Not much planned for today. A pottering day catching up on this and that if I CBA! The ironing basket is calling and my grey roots are in dire need of addressing!
I'm not bothering with a proper Sunday lunch today. Mr TA says he has a fancy for jacket spuds with a prawn cocktail type filling. Prawns already defrosting. I picked up some TTD Vivaldi baking spuds ys in Sainsbobs t'other day for half price. I'll bake them all and freeze what we don't eat. Might experiment with one of CATERINA's alternative salads to go with them, though I do have Romaine lettuce bought at the usual price in Aldi midweek.
Have a good day all and HUGS for all the poorlies, sad and worried wanting one. Take care all whatever you are up to xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning everyone.
Unusually I had a fitful night and woke up three or four times, only for a few minutes each time. I've now heard the same four minutes of the News Quiz podcast so often I know it off my heart!
I'll be driving home this morning. Much as I love my DM I hope to stop coming down every weekend and revert back to fortnightly visits.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Happy Sunday.0 -
Morning all
I've had tea and toasted bagel, my L&M has tea in bed, DGS is still asleep.
I cooked a Lidl 5 bird roast yesterday, it will be sliced later for lunch and the rest will be frozen for future weekend meals.
I decluttered my underwear a few days ago, there isn't enough in there to fold kodo style now, 2 bras, 10 prs knickers and a nightdress (worn only when the DGC are visiting) between 3 drawers.
I gave all the hard floors a mop and steam yesterday, today I will tidy and clean the living room.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning!
Thank you for the thread Karcher.
I've just slept for 9 hours, I can't remember sleeping as long as this since I was young, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and I feel so refreshed. Must do this again.
Today the OH is taking me on a quick trip to L*dL, do contain yourselves, I know how exciting this must seem. Then I plan to potter read, knit and cook dinner.
But first i would like some toast and then a shower, woohoo it is fixed, only took 5 minutes for a proper electrician who turned up when he said he would, replaced a breaker, and now lovely warm water.
Hope everyone has a good day, with love to those who are unwell, sad or worried.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning everyone,
Thick fog here this morning, another one here who didn't sleep that well, think it's because Wednesday is now looming large in my mind
Did a complete re-stock of fridge and freezer yesterday, spent over a £100 but apart from fresh veg etc that should be it for the month so ok with that, I do try to stick to a reasonable budget for the the two of us. The animals have a separate amount on my spreadsheet, as does petrol.
We are out for Sunday lunch though, both of my DSS's are home from Uni for the weekend and we are going to the pub in the village, it's quite pricey so it's an occasional treat but worth splashing out on as the food is usually very good.
Apart from that and the usual sunday morning listening to the Archers omnibus won't be doing loads, perhaps a long walk in the afternoon, maybe a nap instead
Have a good day everyone, take care folks x0 -
Morning :hello:
I've been waking up really early again lately, between 3am–4am. I have nowhere to lounge about until a reasonable hour – last minute change-of-mind decisions being made about electric cables and radiator pipes means the work had to change order and is taking longer than it should. So I've been flitting about on here very early every day but have had nothing to say, because I haven't actually been able to do anything! I've gone through hundreds of emails and deleted most of them. I've caught up with my Amazon feedback, I've been very lazy with it and hadn't left any for ages. I feel better now it's done, it must be disheartening for sellers – especially small ones who haven't been going for long – when they know someone's happy with their stuff (because they haven't had a complaint) then the customer doesn't help them out a bit with something that takes two minutes to do.
Mr tru went to the osteopath because of a stubborn muscle under his shoulder blade, she told him she couldn't really work on it because he actually has a fractured rib! He has no idea how he did it, and it's not painful unless you touch it, in which case there's a high chance you'll watch him shoot through the ceiling, lol. He's been a bit short of breath but put it down to the cough and cold he had. He's not allowed to lift or carry anything for four weeks.
I'm spending a ridiculous amount of time washing vacuum cleaner filters and clearing dust from the kitchen and bathroom. Kitchen and hall floors are a nightmare so I've given up on them, it's pointless at the moment.
My mortgage payment has gone down by £2.83 per month so I'm pleased about that
I'll do an online shop in a mo, then hang some washing up to dry. Can't really do much else so will have a lazy day.

Could have sworn I posted earlier but don't see it.
Anyway, short version is good journey here yesterday, trip to Haarlem in afternoon - nice city, visited very cold church.
Hope you're all well, take care. Xx0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. After 2 days of fine weather it's foggy, OH not happy, he wanted to polish the car.
Eating at lunchtime, there is a meeting at the village hall tonight, OH is going. I need to bake scones or something to have for tea.
No other plans for the day. I am sure now the medication is causing a dip in my BP, will have to talk to the Dr. next Friday.
I got so annoyed yesterday with our broadband speed I have changed to fibre BB! It will cost me more but the basic speed is almost 10 times what it is now. We have to wait for a new router and the switch will be next Thursday. Our present speed is so slow that it times out before it connects. That's our pension increase down the pan..........but it had to be done.
The day bed on the sewing room is getting its fair share of use just now, have been going for a rest each afternoon, it's very comfortable, I am so glad I decided to get it. My sewing room is a bit cramped, but I manage and I can get round both sides of my cutting table now.
Time to get my butt out of bed and sort the lunch. We have had our usual Sunday fruit and croissant breakfast in bed.0 -
Morning all,

Have got the bedding in the wm will try and hang it out for a while as its not raining atm. We need to hoover through and mop the floors but the rest of the house is ok ish.
Not sure about dinner today but there are some tuna steaks in the freezer so I might get some of those out and have with some new potatoes and peas.
DD will have some washing to do to so will get her to bring that down.
