Update!!
Well despite my meagre 4 hours sleep I decided to get up and out as I knew if I didn't, I'd spend the day on the sofa.
Well I have been for a run, put the WM on and just sprayed the bathroom tiles with bleach. Am posting here whilst it hopefully works it's magic. Once that is done, and the bathroom is scrubbed I will be quite content slobbing on the sofa knowing at least I've done something.
That guag is a rare thing for me so early in the morning...so I grabbed it with both handsand I can now justify the wine, pizza and HM coleslaw I have planned for dinner

redruby, how frustrating for you. DS had the same thing, he developed a computer program to make things more efficient in the warehouse where he works. It was so good the head office decided to roll it out across the country. He was then made to go on a course to be trained on it where the trainer took the credit for developing it. He said the bloke was a bit shamefaced when he was asked a question about it and DS had to answer it for him.
Have a good day with your grandson and his wife Jackie.0 -
Afternoon ( just )
TA - hope the afternoon goes well for all
Redruby - how demoralising for you.
Judi - hope your grandson gets well soon.
Karcher - hope you have a better day.
Well, bed stripped and washing machine on, although it's making a heck of a noise whilst spinning.
Have put two loads on the whirly as the sun is shining, whether it will dry remains to be seen.
Kitchen tops cleaned down, DW emptied and refilled.
Gosh on paper that seems a lot for me on a Saturday;)
Will go up after lunch and try and sort out the ironing - hopefully it won't amount to much. Then remake the bed.
Tea tonight will be hot dogs as found two lonely rolls in the freezer.
Good vibrations to all and have a good Saturday
nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Karcher can I have some of your guag please? Mine went awol ages ago! I hope you're feeling better than you were yesterday.
I had a lovely surprise in yesterday's post - a while back, I filled in a customer survey for the Xscape in MK; I only did it because I wanted to offer praise for the security guard who went the extra mile by helping me get up to the cinema in my wheelchair when the customer lift was out of action (he spotted us looking a bit forlorn - we were about to just turn round and go home when he approached us; he took me up in the goods lift and alerted the cinema staff that I'd need to be taken down again after the film). Anyways, I hadn't realised each person doing the survey was put into a prize draw.... til they told me I'd won!! A £200 gift card to use at the Xscape. There are loads of outdoor clothing shops, so I may try and get some good wet-weather gear for dog-walking; at the moment, I borrow Mr LW's.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
LW
That is great news especially as you only did the survey to thank someone who had helped you - karma? :T
Have just frozen three helpings of home made tomato soup to give to dd and am planning leek and potato this afternoon. The fridge looks so much better since it was cleaned and sorted out (if a bit empty). I am also trying to make space in the freezer so I can freeze most of the meat delivery which is due on Tuesday.
Just had a brainwave and dragged a cream ottoman downstairs which looks good at the end of my bed and is a perfect place to store the V shaped pillow and cushions when not in use. It will also be good to hide dds birthday presents
Really pleased with the idea of the bargain cases in the sales which should arrive next week. DDs will be a bit  as they are navy and red tulip pattern :rotfl: but I really like them and they will be easy to spot in a crowd!!!
Waiting in for post and then going to put reycling and bin bags out and visit the other end of town for a joint of meat and lots of veg.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

It might be worth checking if the sales are on before you go as then you can get the most for your money and either buy more or a higher value item."This site is addictive!"

Back from taking DM shopping. We got a paper for her friend at the other end of her street who is not well. He gets supermarket food deliveries but likes a Saturday paper.
And that's it. The rain started and my resolve dissolved in it. I CBA traipsing around in the driving rain. I'd been eyeing up a new pair of shoes but can get them in the mail if I decide to buy them.
I've watched 'Who do you think you are' via iplayer, it was Greg Davies and fairly interesting. Now I've got the new Anne Cleeves book to start on, 'Cold Earth', again set in Shetland. Nothing else for it in Raintown.
Redruby - that's such a shame and so demoralising too. I'd have made a mini fuss and spoken out. Probably not the best political move but sod that! Maybe an email to the overall boss along the lines of 'how disappointing it was not to have my input recognised', thus not actually claiming it as all yours even though it was. It could be a way out for both. Still, I'd have shouted out!
Right, coffee, book, feet up, head down for me.0 -

There's a film Mr LW wants to see next week, so we'll be going to the Xscape on Tuesday in any case, so we shall have a look around while we're there.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Good afternoon,
Karcher, thank you for starting us and good to know that you are feeling better today.
TA, I hope the celebration of this woman's life goes as well as it possibly can, it sounds like she was loved by many.
Gers, pleased I could be of help, I keep meaning to go to the Virgin Lounge for a drink myself, but now that I no longer travel free on public transport, it seems a long way and an expensive way for a cup of tea, all the way to Central London for me. Roll on my 60th birthday and the Oystercard for Oldies!
JackieO I am going to start a separate thread about alternative salads without using lettuce. Watch this space!
LW how wonderful for you! I agree, it is good karma, enjoy your well deserved win.
Redruby GRRRRR bl**dy employers, the world of work is full of managers like yours, sadly, who really don't know how to motivate and praise their staff for achievements, in fact the contrary is often the case. Rest assured in the praise that was given, you know who was the one who did the work and at the first possible opportunity go and find a job where you are more appreciated.
This morning I was out and about, went to the library to return a book and pick up one for DH, then to the shops to get DH's new watch strap and battery for his watch, then visited my friend in hospital. She is doing better and it was good to spend some time with her.
Just had lunch and very soon I am going for a bit of shopping. I have a £5 off £35 voucher for Marks and also the gift card with my 8% discount, so it is still worth shopping there. Once the discount card is empty even £5 off £35 won't be enough to tempt me. But I can buy all the stuff I need for next week's church soup and I love their oranges, so it is still worth it going there.
I also want to pop to the allotment to pick up one or two of my winter Scarola salad heads, to beat the lettuce shortage.
Have a good evening. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Redruby I can only echo what Gers and Caterina have said.
You have my utmost sympathy. I had similar with my old boss and similar now in that my co-worker takes credit for my ideas and hard work. It is really demoralising.
Lamewolf Well done on your win. Sorry but all my guag has now gone. I finished cleaning and am now completely and utterly exhausted. Would love to have a nap but don't imagine it will happen as my head is still working over time!
Just going to lie down on the sofa and have a rest, before a shower, getting in my pj's, opening my wine and cooking my pizza.
Fingers crossed I get a good, uninterrupted, long nights sleep tonight!'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
