Neff dishwasher noise

Help!!!

We have an integrated Neff Dishwasher. About 5 years old. Before Christmas it started making a horrendous groaning noise. The noise came and went through the cycle. We called an engineer and have had the drain pump, heat pump and diverter all replaced and it is still making the noise. The engineer has given up and said either live with it or call out Neff. Any suggestions? :(:(

  • Thank you. I sent it to the engineer who said that he had checked that. I might get a second opinion though. Thanks again

  • I have to have some sympathy with him to be fair think he's gone through everything and not charged me a thing. He did say he'd ask around and see if any of his colleagues had any ideas. A few days later he said to run the dishwasher without the spinner arms. Low and behold didn't make the noise when top spinner is removed. I am now waiting for a new top spinner arm and will let you know if that solves it. Fingers crossed
  • Wondering if you found a solution to the groaning sound being made by the Neff dishwasher? Mine Ian doing the same.

If it's doing it all the time it's washing then it's the circulation pump/motor. Nowadays probably all one unit.

I had NEFF integrated dishwasher, it was always noisy. Replaced it with a Samsung .... bliss :-) Both appliances have same noise rating

  • Hi
No the groaning sound is intermittent. I wondered if it is happening as water is being fed into machine...

Water entering machine could make a noise, it did on mine but not what I would describe as groaning.
If you listen carefully you ought to be able to determine when during the cycle and where the noise is coming from.

Water coming in is short bursts of a few seconds. The drain pump comes on now & then for about a minute at a time. If the noise is going on for several minutes at a time at various points in the cycle then it is probably the circulation motor/pump.
