Best Sim Only for Calling Europe

Hi, my girlfriend is after the best SIM only deal she can get but being Belgian (and with her family still living there) she wants a good SIM only deal that includes cheap calls to Belgium.

Don't mind if it's a bolt-on as opposed to included in a specific deal, but does anyone have any recommendations?

The simple answer is if its only a few people she's calling get them to install something like Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp or some other instant messenger that does voice calls on their phone and get a contract with a good data plan. Chances are if its friends and they're under 30 they probably have Facebook anyway.

Any deal with inclusive calls to UK non-geographic 03 numbers will give you access to a variety of dial-through providers where you can make calls to Europe with no further charges.

Alternatively, there are a number of dial-through providers offering access via chargeable five-digit mobile shortcodes.

Avoid dial-through providers offering 084, 087 or 09 numbers. These will be insanely expensive from a mobile.

We use http://localphone.com/ to call Cyprus - it (usually) works well and doesn't cost much.
What'sApp etc are 'free' to use.

Calls to land lines in Belgium are 2p per minute (inc vat), the call is via 0808 1 703 703

I doubt you will get "free" calls via an 03 or 0800 number

You will find plenty of dial-through providers using 03 numbers with no additional charges.

You won't find any with 080 numbers, principally because they also have to pay the caller's provider for carrying the call.
