Which PAYG does not disconnect you for inactivity?
Hi,
I want to get a member of my family a PAYG chip, but want one which does not cut you off if you dont use the phone for several months.
As previously i purchased an orange sim with £30 on it and found out a few days ago it had been disconnected with all the credit gone as it had not been used for a while.
Any help? thanks.

AFAIK they all require you to make a chargeable call / text every 180 days.0

Simply tell them to make a chargeable call before 180 days elapse. Some networks may have a shorter cut-off time but most are 180 days. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

They can't take your credits! Once you make a call they should reconnect you and you should get your balance.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

I put £50 on an Orange payg about 6 years ago. I even took up a deal back then where you pay £15 one off fee for 5 free texts a day. I dont think ive given Orange a penny for years. Maybe the old payg T&Cs were better?Debt: a bloomin big mortgage

They can and they do if you don't comply with their terms and conditions. How can you make a call if your numbers has been disabled? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I would call Orange to clarify, as my son lives in the USA has an Orange sim for when he comes over here. It is one of my old sims, he comes over once a year or so and the credit and use is always still there. I queried the 180 day cut off a couple of years ago and then CS said they never remove credit.
I have a few old sims, some without credit and apart from one they all can receive calls when put in a phone.ac's lovechild0 -

Virgin mobile have the 180 day rule like the others.
They seem to be the company that are least likely to enforce it though.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
All you have to do is call yourself at home, pick up the phone, replace receive, and get charged about 20p for the priiviledge or text another mobile, cost about 5p. (made you a 30p a year saving there).
Twice a year you have to do this. Its not too much of a bother.0
