Slight correction, house is semi detached and garage leads into garden

When i say demolish garage, i will be removing ceiling and back door/ wall which is between my kitchen and next door neighbour

The walls which my garage door will hang onto will be my boundry wall between me and neighbour and wall oposite ( my living room/ kitchen)

The whole purpose of this exercise is to stop people from walking to my garden through demolish garage door

    Does that make sense now?
Yes, thank you. It's a roofless, backless garage, temporarily. Presumably there was originally a standard garage door there way back before it was replaced. I suspect it will be a standard size, therefore a standard size door will fit. Only one way to find out. Measure the gap and search online to see what sizes are available.

    Would you go electric?

Electric?! It'll be open to the elements. I'd have an electric roller door eventually but for this interim period just get a second hand standard door to put there. No point putting in anything fancy whilst it's open to the elements and when it it would have to be removed for building work anyway.
  • Will it impact on insurance? It will no longer be a garage but a driveway.

Why not just put an iron gate as a barrier? You could make it electric.

Personally, I miss not being able to park in a garage. The car used to be warmer despite ice cold weather. No snow or ice to scrape off the car. Just get in and drive sttaight away.
