Ooh GERS I have been promising myself that I'll make the MB Tortilla Bake ever since I saw her make it! I really must get round to it it looked so good.
Well the bedroom is finished, the new curtains are up and it looks so much lighter and brighter now that the duck egg blue emulsion is no more! I gave the newly painted cream walls another coat of emulsion but left the mushroom coloured wall alone and it all tones in well together.
Mr TA defrosted the upright freezer after lunch and I have just been tidying the drawers out yet again. How do they end up in such turmoil!! To say we have been living out of the freezer as much as poss since Christmas there is still a lot in there to keep us going a while longer. The chest freezer needs defrosting too but that's for another day. I keep tubs of foraged fruit in that, along with a big box containing an assortment of frozen veg, which is looking in need of a restock next time I go shopping.
The eating to excess over Christmas continued throughout January and I finally braved the scales yesterday! Not as bad as I feared but a few pounds have gone on and I am trying to keep to a sensible eating plan now to try and lose them. Not a strict diet, just cutting back on fats and sugars for a while. (All the food I like!)
Have a good rest of the day if you can folks and take care x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
We thought Mr LW's phone had turned up it's toes yesterday; he couldn't dial out or receive calls, or send or receive texts. Most weird!
Anyways, on the basis of "it can't get any worse than it is" I suggested he do a Factory Reset, and that seemed to sort it. :T
It's technically a smartphone, as that was all that was available when he took out his new contract (£4 per month cheaper than the previous one) but he never uses it for the internet; so losing any downloaded apps wasn't an issue as he's never downloaded any; and all his contacts are saved on his SIM, thankfully.
We did a test call to each other's phones, which worked, and he's just had a text from his pal, who is currently poorly, so it's now working as expected again. :TIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Another fan here of MB's tortilla bake - I cook mine in a springform cake tin as I don't have a round dish wide enough. That works really well as you can get it out whole and it looks really impressive that way if you have guests0

Well got back from DDs about an hour ago. Engineer came about 3pm but couldn't find where the leak was coming from so have left him and DSiL who has just come in from work, scratching their heads. DD phoned on her way home and will ring later to update us.
Tea tonight was from the local chippy, very naughty (we have been back on the diets since Christmas )
We were doing so well last year as DH lost 3st and I lost 1st, we are aiming for about half of that this year, fingers crossed.
Not much done today but have the duvet cover in the wm now and will have to dry it indoors.
Going to have an early night as I forgot to shut off my alarm from yesterday and it went off again early this morning, was not a happy bunny as had just dropped off. DH kept waking me last night as he had a very painful shoulder and shouted out every time he turned over.
Have a good evening all

It's worthwhile - just make sure that the mince is fairly dry. It's yummy.Another fan here of MB's tortilla bake - I cook mine in a springform cake tin as I don't have a round dish wide enough. What a great idea! I've got a Rosemary Shrager pie dish which I use, only small problem is that the dish opens out slightly at the top so the tortilla is suddenly too small. I fill the gaps with cheese.
Have you tried freezing the cooked dish?
Lamewolf - well done on the phone fixing. I did a factory reset on my DM's portable phone (landline) and all the numbers in her contact list were still there, surprisingly.0
