Still covered with the AA despite no longer having Halifax Ultimate Reward?

I upgraded to Ultimate Reward in July for the travel insurance, mobile phone cover and breakdown cover.
However, I closed this account down around October/November time and then signed up for the AA themselves as I wanted more cover.
However, I phoned them up last night regarding a breakdown, and the lady on the phone asked me if I still have my Halifax account? So I stumbled a little bit because I closed the account down but then re-opened it about a month ago as just Reward, not Ultimate Reward. But the lady said it's probably just Halifax haven't let them know.
Does this suggest I'm covered twice?

What do the t&cs say?0

No you are not covered twice.
The bank's T&C would state that the benefit stopped immediately on the date your account was cancelled.
As you have purchased a new policy you would be covered under that.
When calling out the AA (with my Lloyds account) I had to show the debit card to the engineer before he would look at why my battery had died on me. Would you still have a debit card to show? If not you may well have been charged for the call out.0 -
In recent dealings with them, the AA were very fair to me. I renewed in October, only to take out Barclays travel pack in December, which covered both me and the wife. She bought a new car in January, which came with Renault assist........from the AA! So between us we were covered 4 times.
I rang up and explained and they immediately refunded me 10 months worth of payments.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0 -

I did explain to the lady on the phone that I no longer have the Ultimate Reward account so I won't have been charged0 -

I think my car is covered for breakdown too with the dealership but I'm not sure who covers that. When buying it, they said they think it was the RAC but wasn't sure. Though I didn't want to use the dealer's cover due to other poor service0 -
OP, if you're struggling with zx81's question, open the T&Cs online and do a Ctrl F search for the word "cease".0

The Customer has the right to cancel their AA Breakdown Cover but please note that as this cover
has been provided as an integral part of their Halifax Ultimate Reward Current Account no refund is available. Cancellation/closure of Your Halifax Ultimate Reward Current Account will mean that Your rights to service from the AA will cease immediately. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. They don't all work like that though. Through my Nationwide FlexPlus account both me, as a driver or passenger in any car, and anyone lawfully driving my car is covered. Should my partner be alone in my car if it breaks down, they would have no debit card to show the mechanic as they are not a Nationwide customer. Essentially it depends on the Ts&Cs of your cover, and from what you describe, the car itself is not covered by Lloyds, simply the account holder.
The OP mentioned they held a Halifax account me a LLoyds one - I think both work in the same way as they form part of Lloyds Banking group.
I accept that non Lloyds account may be run differently.0 -
I used my Lloyds based breakdown service last year. Nationally it's the AA but where I live it's sub contracted to local services. At our previous address (big city) I also used it once and it was the AA which came out.
Never had to show my card to anyone. Everything was checked over the phone and I can't recall a debit card even being mentioned. As I don't use the account for day to day stuff I wouldn't be carrying the card.
If I remember rightly the previous car was still under Vauxhall Assist at the time. I used the Lloyds service to take me and the car home and Vauxhall Assist to get the car back to the dealer the next day for the repair.0
