The minimum connection time at JNB between two International flights is 3hrs.

As far as I can tell MCT's at JNB is 60 minutes for international-to-international and 90 minutes for domestic-to-international connections (the OP has the latter). The 3 hours mentioned in your link is a response to a passenger with separate tickets.

Travel light and just take cabin baggage.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

Therefore I have 30 minutes between one flight landing and check-in closing to go through passport control, collect bags, go through customs, walk from one terminal to the other then find the check-in desks and check in!

You said that you will be arriving from Port Elizabeth, which is also in South Africa. So at least there will be no need to pass Immigration, Customs, passport control...

We have a single PNR which I've given to BA each time I've contacted them but they've still said it won't be checked through. I've contacted them a few times to check and all (3) times they've said it won't.
Looking at BA's website, they don't offer the routing that has been booked for you.

The Port Elizabeth to JNB flight is a code share with Comair, so it says BA on your ticket, but the flight is operated by Comair. Air Seychelles do not have a code share with Comair.. https://www.airseychelles.com/en/about-us/codeshare-partners ..so there is every chance that your bags won't be checked through. You could email Comair to ask them the question, but it really should be the agent doing this on your behalf. You're paying them for a service that they aren't delivering on at this point, so I would push the ball back into their court and ask for written proof from Comair that your bags will be checked through and what the minimum connection would be at JNB between their arrival gate and Air Seychelles departure gate.

I am fairly sure that your first sector will be operated by Comair as a code-share from BA. Check on your ticket to identify the operating carrier, and try to contact them directly. It is just possible that you might receive some good news about through-checking your baggage.

The OP has one PNR. A PNR can have multiple tickets for a single itinerary in it. If Port Elizabeth onwards is on one ticket number, then that's another matter. I'd still want written varification from Comair that the bags would be transfered, etc...

But the OP says he has a through ticket and Air Seyschelles have confirmed that he will be rebooked if he misconnects. Sounds to me unlikely that he has separate tickets.

BA/Comair interline with Air Seychelles (BA6234 - HM60) so as in your first post if all your flights have been issued on one ticket I would imagine you should be ok.

Best speak to Comair as well as mentioned, they probably have more experience of these connections than BA in the UK/India.

It's not a codeshare, Comair is a BA franchise partner and the flight will just a BA flight number. For all intents and purposes it's a BA flight.
