Why does it matter? Every business has risk and can have a low/bad month income.

The OP referenced the landlord has no mortgage, so she brought up the costs subject

Every business also has the right to mitigate those risks, which is what the majority of the thread is about.

OP, I am pleased you have taken some of the comments made on board and have come to an agreement with the LL. Best of luck

A case of do as I say and not as I do then.

She IS a teacher. What on earth do you expect from teachers, perfection in every piddling detail of their lives?? And it should be 'you're'.

Exactly in my job, I'm nice, helpful, volunteer but outside work I can't be bothered with basic things.

Also I have been on phone to customers who give you stinking attitude and they say I'm a solicator, doctor blah blah blah.

Not sure when I was asking for your opinion on my attitude? Am I giving you my opinion on yours? No, because you haven't asked. I asked if I was allowed to refuse viewings... which clearly I am not... thanks to those that have given that advice... But you seem to think everyone wants to hear all about your opinion on something not implied in my OP... but I'm the self righteous princess? Yup. <-- sarcasm, FYI

Ha you posted on a public forum and put you're attitude out there. I was friendly enough to not wait for you to ask my opinion.

If you do not wish to read peoples interpretation of what you write, perhaps be more tactful in what you write.....that saves you have to ask for my opinion again :p

Frankly i could not give a holy smoking dump whether "she" is or not. Her attitude stinks.

Oh and by the way, Don't f'ing grammar police me.

    It's pathetic and pious.

OP is paying rent and is entitled to live in her home however she wants.

I dont think its selfish. She's paying for the privilege to rent somewhere and providing its as it was when she moved in at the point she moves back out it doesn't matter. If she's currently moving house and changing jobs she probably has got a lot on. Who wants to constantly hear from a landlord / letting agent over a 4 week period and have dozens of people coming and going through your home.

How she chooses to live is a none issue - messy, selfish etc.

Issue is if she should have multiple visits to take photos and do viewings. She's entitled to peaceful enjoyment (the whole we'll come whenever we want and you'll allow viewings in the last 4 weeks could probably be deemed an unfair term anyway). Besides if she says no what would they do aside from be awkward.

The actual issue is that it will cause animosity from a landlord who's trying to minimise a void period. All this BS about how she should play ball with requests at the end for sake of a good reference or the deposit back - she's entitled to that anyway if she's been a good tenant regardless of if she agrees to visits or not. Not wanting endless strangers through doesn't make her a bad tenant.

Whilst she's paying for the privilege its her home and she can live how she likes and pick and choose who visits when. When she's vacated the landlord can do as he wishes.

I do think she's probably wise to give a couple of times to allow viewings but if she doesn't then thats part and parcel of being a landlord.

This made me laugh and actually made me think you probably are a good teacher! Glad the matter was resolved!

    OUCH!
How on Earth did you manage to find time to view the house in the first place or travel 200 miles every time you wanted to view a place for your new job.

Stop being precious. The world does not revolve around you.
