Not sure what to do here.
NPower have appeared on my credit file for an address I lived at 4 years ago. The account start date is November 2016. Very bizarre.
I phone them and they treated me like a criminal.
I've lived overseas for 4 years!!
What a horrible company.

Since when has Utilities posted on CRA"s...?
Since they were seduced into doing so by the CRAs; several years ago now. Water utilities do it without your permission, some of the energy companies don't report at all, so use them (e.g. EDF).
As for npower, don't lower yourself to prove anything to this worst of the worst absolute pits of a company, by far and away the biggest slime dweller in the UK. Just report them to the ICO. They've been corrupting data held by the CRAs for long enough now. It's way, way, past the time this rogue operator should be banned from reporting customer accounts to the CRAs. They have caused misery up and down the land.0 -

Hi,
Can you please advise how to complain to the ICO?
They are currently ruining my brothers chance of buying his first home due to "missed payments" which they admitted aren't missed they have just aged the debt owed.
Also just read on their website they only mark on credit files when agreed payments are missed or late, which they where not! How vile!0 -

Start here:
https://ico.org.uk/concerns/
While you're on with it you might like to ask them why they still permit the likes of npower to report accounts at all. I can't think of one good reason why a company with npower's data management pedigree should be allowed within a thousand miles of a credit reference agency.0 -

May be an idea to go to the ombudsman also
ombudsman-services.org/energy
Hope that helps0
