So I did a debt relief order Aug 2015. Been discharged for almost 18 months and I did use a flex basic during the moratorium (undisharged) period. Great account but did ask for an upgrade to normal flex account as wanted travel insurance. Was rejected each time so closed the flex account about 7 months ago.
Thought I'd try my luck and applied online a week ago for a normal flex account. Selected NO overdraft and NO cheque book.
Ta-da I got accepted ! I called to confirm and they said yes I passed credit check. Then received signature mandate to sign and just got a email to confirm my account details. Called to triple check and indeed I have a full flex account.
I believe the reason I've been approved is I have a vodafone account on my credit file, an EE account, an ID mobile (£4 sim just to give me some green ticks) and ive been using the cash builder prepaid debit card that is mentioned on here.
All this seems to be improving my history of credit and I'm feeling positive!!! :j

Great news but you are aware that Nationwide FlexAccount no longer offers free travel insurance!0

Silly me...
but still happy with a 'normal' account.
Just need someone to give me a referral so we can each get the £100 for switching... any takers?

Will be interesting to see if this is Nationwide starting to relax restrictions on past insolvency, or some sort of fluke. I'd like a normal account too, but not sure I want to ditch the flexbasic and switch banks on off chance I could then get full account. I've had similar success re credit builders cards and mobile accounts, and been 3 years since completion of IVA (less than a year long)
Did your DRO show on credit files at all agencies ?0
