How do I close BT Yahoo Email Account

Can anyone tell me how to close down my BT Yahoo Email Account? I've tried to find info about how to do this without any luck. I phoned BT but they said I had to phone their Premium Email department with a premium rate phone number! It seems that others who have done this are left hanging on for up to 45 minutes!
I don't use the account now and just want to close it down. Any advice would be appreciated.
