Cancelled sky in the hope they improve deal. How long do I wait?

Hi All
My Sky contract ended this month so I rang and asked for a better deal. I slept on their offer and then cancelled the next day stating it was still too expensive. This was two days ago. I was very friendly with them and just stated it was cost that was the issue.
I don't actually want to cancel Sky so in peoples experience will a better deal be forth coming if I wait to near the end of the 31 day cancellation period?
The figures are as follows:
My current deal is £68 per month
(Cinema + box sets with two Sky + HD boxes in the house)
They offered to reduce it by 30% which would drop me to £51.20 (after doing the maths I realise this is not actually 30%)
We don't have Virgin in our street and we like the ability to record to Sky+ so going to something like Now TV doesn't solve the recording issue. Our broadband is with TalkTalk and still under contract for 6 months.
Do you think 30% ish is all they are offering people at the moment?

As has been said over and over, the best deals are after switch off.
My offer was about four weeks after, but could have been earlier, as I didn't check, only becaming aware when someone, on here, mentioned that excellent offers were appearing on My Sky.0 -
Sorry, didn't realise this was such a repetitive post. I'll look at other posts instead.
Please ignore so it can sink to the bottom without a trace.
