Not charged for item! Advice

Hi,
Recently made a purchase through John Lewis for around £600. Consisted of 3 items. I received them all in store.
John Lewis are now ringing me telling me they only charged for two and they are trying to take another £200 from my card. I have received a new card since then so they cant take the £200.
The phone calls are starting to annoy me now as they are ringing me daily and feel like Im being harassed. To me they should of taken full amount at purchase time.
Thanks

So are they right? You owe them, sounds like it.
Yes, they should have taken the full payment, but they didn't. They are human too.
So do you figure you legally own the item, because unknowingly you walked out of the store with it not paid for?
You obviously wanted and were prepared to pay for the three. What has changed?I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
I do however reserve the right to be correct by accident.0 -
The irritation of JL's phone calls could have been avoided had you given a new card number to them when they contacted you first time. Your disinclination to pay makes you sound unreasonable and dishonest.0

for a purchase of that amount you must've known how much you were due to pay.
How quickly did you change your card when you noticed they had undercharged?0 -
Would you have complained if you had been charged for 3 when you only bought 2? If so you would be phoning them numerous times to get back what you are owed.Dwy galon, un dyhead,

I think it is unfair they keep calling you.
On them that is.
They should stop messing around and go straight to court

Your not being harrased, you have an item not isnt paid for and they are asking for payment simple as, you could have had it resolved by now by paying for the item.
Just pay up, it will be easier for you in the long run.
I could be wrong but Im sure they could take the money from the card despite the card number changing.0 -
Don't worry, the calls from John Lewis will stop soon.
Then the ones from the debt collectors will start, together with the endless letters, which you'll probably bin. Just make sure you don't throw the court summons away when it arrives though.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

It sounds like you did an online click and collect transaction...
If the website and emails/paperwork said they would sell you the 3 items for £600, and they proceeded to dispatch them, but JL have only collected £400 - you still owe them £200
If the website and emails/paperwork said they would sell you the 3 items for £400, and they proceeded to dispatch them and you paid £400 - they cannot now say that you owe them a further £200.
But from your post, it sounds like the former - so you would owe them £200.0 -
And if it was before the OP collected the items, that might lead them into a whole extra kind of bother if they don't pay up.[Deleted User] wrote:How quickly did you change your card when you noticed they had undercharged?0
