G24 parking charge

I received a parking charge letter showing my car reg number. On the advice of others I ignored this. Then a few months later I received a letter from a collections company offering a reduce charge of £79.99 within 14 days otherwise it would go back up to the £150 and threatening legal proceedings. Again I ignored this. Now I have a letter from another collection company this time Zenith collections offering the same reduced amount of £79.99 within 14 days or back to the original amount of £150. This apparently a notice of intention to commence legal proceedings.
As I was parked legally in a blue badge area of the car park I believed I had unlimited time there.
I spoke to citizens advice who said G24 can't force me to pay but the collections company can take me to small claims court.
Any advice would be grateful.

Who told you to ignore? Where did you get the original parking ticket/charge and why? From the Plain Language Commission:

Friends said to ignore and it was an overstayed time in a private car park at B&M in Meadow retail park in Falkirk, Stirlingshire0

Oh dear .... you need to tell "others" how wrong they were.
First and foremost you TOTALLY IGNORE Zenith as they are simply trolls begging for money. It's just a try on so IGNORE
The CAB as said many times on here are useless and giving you incorrect information.
The scrubby little debt collector does not have the power to take you to court .... only G24 can do that.
G24 have not taken court action for some time as at one appearance it cost them a lot of money
Now you have said .....
As it is in Falkirk, Stirlingshire, Scotland, yes just ignore, in Scotland it's a no brainer for parking scammers and their vermin debt collectors.
That explains why they keep offering a discount.
Look upon Zenith as Nigerian scammers0 -
Avoid CAB like the plague, they are clueless amateurs.

Perhaps incorrectly. How long did you overstay? In any event any sum over £100 is a no-no.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

Do not say who was driving! You can get it cancelled by the landowners or retailers though, so what happened when you complained?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I got the same in today for parking in the exact same place. Been parking in there for a while but never even noticed signs about charges for overstaying, never mind cameras taking my picture. I've had a couple of these, from the Scotmid car park in Bonnybridge & the Olympia in East Kilbride & just ignored them. They will try scare tactics, saying you can be taken to court etc etc. But just ignore them all. It will go on for months with letters from various companies, some of whom look like debt collectors, but on checking the small print, are the same company. Eventually, they will go away.0 -
I also live in Scotland and received a CPP Notice from G24 a few days ago (although date issued was 17th...it took more than a week to get here?)for £100. I am the registered keeper although it was hubby driving that day. The car park was previously a "get ticket £1 for 2hrs which then disappeared, followed by many months of it being a free for all. Day in question said driver assumed it was still free and didn't see any notices or machines, although there is a sign on the "Sports Direct" wall but he didn't park at that end of the park.
I've read the newbies, some other threads and posts and haven't contacted G24 in any way and have no intention to either. Just want to ask if the advice remains up to date in Scotland....IGNORE EVERYTHING??? I only ask as I'm a born worrier and it's not his name on the notice...it's mine...so frustrating..hope you can put my mind at ease as the last thing I wan't is possible court action.0 -

" The person liable for this charge is the driver when it was issued. In certain circumstances, liability can be transferred to the registered keeper". It says to call if unsure that I'm liable and if I don't they will take it that I agree I'm liable!!!
Can they do this or is it just another attempt at making me contact them??
Just looking for a bit of re-assurance0 -

I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
