I had the chicco polly with DS and it was fab. With DD I had a cheapo highchair, it didn't recline and the straps didn't come off either so they were minging in no time at all. The chicco polly was fab, it had a removeable tray that I could just chuck in the sink and if DS fell asleep in it I would just lay him back and put a blanket over him. Also the straps came off easily so I could chuck them in the washing machine and the padding came off to give it a really good deep clean. Also another good thing about it was that it had different height positions so when DS started climbing out of it at about 9 months (he was like bloody Houdini) I could put it down on the lowest setting so was safe for him to climb out when he'd finished his meal.

Stokke Tripp Trapp. Bought both of ours from a second hand selling site. Son is now 8 and daughter 4, both still used multiple times a day. Very easy to clean. Sold on baby bits and pieces as soon as daughter grew out of them. Adults can also sit on them if needed.

We made the (same) original mistake of getting a fabric, large footprint, 'traditional' high chair, after a month of using that I said never again and bought the Tripp Trapp one and freecycled the larger one.

The Ikea chair I looked at, but both of my children were long / long legged, and looked like they would have grown out of it before they were 2 and we'd have had to get something else for them to sit in.

Aldi are doing the above, has anyone got one, looks similar to Ikea one?
  • Bought the IKEA Antilop today. Really pleased with it - with the inflatable cushion it's supportive enough for son to sit in comfortably. Only arrived at the end of the day so he was only in a few minutes but he looked like he was enjoying the new position.

It's a good height for our table, fits just under the lip of the table top. Feels sturdy with him in it, but very light and easy to move around.

Can't got wrong for less than £20 including the cushion.

Really glad we didn't fork out more, as my main reason for wanting a reclining chair was so he could manage to sit in, but he's already able to sit in the Antilop with the cushion, despite being only 4 months old.
