:T. Our DMP is all set up now and we're off :T
Heaven knows why I'm celebrating but it just feels like a huge weight has been lifted off of us now. We will now be able to budget budget and budget some more. This is going to be the key thing for us as we now know we have no access to credit which I'm actually pleased about.
Once were a few months in I plan to find ways to help us knock some time off and bring our DFD nearer. Our CCs would have probably taken around the same amount of time to clear as interest free periods expire and interest goes on, also we were very close to exhausting all options where credit is concerned so It's for the best. Deal with it now by choice or deal with it when creditors start chasing us as we got to the point where we would be defaulting and missing payments etc anyway.
Things are still good and we have been getting on better than we have in a long time. I think it's because I'm not so stressed about money all the time. I also think it's because we have finally accepted that we made this mess together and we needed to clear it up together too.
Anyway we start our journey on 1st April and I will be setting myself small goals to aim for and make the journey a little less painful.

Congratulations :j
I bet it's such a huge weight off your mind knowing that there is a concrete plan in place and everything will be sorted. Everyone on here will be here too helping you along the way0 -
Thanks dotty
You are so right about having a plan in place. We are both so much more relaxed :T
Although we have 2 CC statements in now and the letters will start coming in I will deal with them as and when. I'm not going to stress over it. hopefully it wont be too scary
I get paid on the 15th of each month and our DMP payment is due to go on the 1st of April and then the 1st of every month. My March's wages will pay the 1st payment and so on. I will move the money into one of my savings accounts until the day before my payments due. This will help us stick to our budget, spend what were allowed and not think we have lots of money :rotfl:
I hope and pray that my wages go into our new account this month. DHs already go into the new account. This will be my first time.(God willing) Our bank will be aware of our situation by then and if my company hasn't done my change of bank forms I will be panicking that my old account will clear out my wages for the loan  I will be sweating on that one until the 15th.
I am also going to be rounding down our accounts regularly and adding the odd bits and pieces to our 2nd savings account, let this build up through the year and will use this for the big bills that I would usually have a battle with myself as to which CC to whack it on. Not anymore
We have an emergency fund in place and that will be for emergencies only.
I have also discovered 'my supermarket' this will help me save some pennies too. I have been doing pretend shops and comparing the supermarkets and doing the downshift challenge. I'm having a great game here with myself

The feeling of having a little money put aside makes things a lot easier to cope with. This is helping me to stay relaxed and not getting onto DH about money and finances all the time. :shhh: Im supposed to be working but im so into this :money: I cant concentrate. Im sitting here reading up on lots more info.
Have also decided that my extra weight has to come off. On the way to work this morning I suddenly realised its light out now :T This means that the nicer weather will be here before I know it and I cannot hide under my long sleeved, baggy clothes any longer. Im hoping that my new positive mind at the moment will help me stay positive on my new healthy eating plan.

Hello diary world
didn't get time to sneak on and post today had to do some work if I want any wages. I am in debt in case I hadn't mentioned it :rotfl:
Have been slightly worried about my wages as the 15th draws nearer, just concerned that it will go into my old account. I asked the lady at work who quickly and sternly reminded me that it's out of her hands and she did all that was necessary for her. Oooohhhh sorry, I wanted to say do you want to go back to bed and get out the right side. Good job she couldn't hear what I was thinking
Need to do a top up shop but am trying to hold out. Normally I would have gone to the supermarket for a few bits that would then have turned into a basket full and then about 5 bags worth. I wouldn't have given it a second thought either. I will draw out the cash that I will need for it and go with that. Therefore removing all temptation :money:
I am trying so hard to stick to my budget every week so eventually it becomes a way of life.- Healthy eating plan 9/10 well the packet of crisps jumped into my hand
- Mood 10/10
- Stress levels 1/10
Overall a good day
