I work with secondary GCSE students who are taught that saying every day about fail to plan etc. Doesn't always work for them either
:D:D
I checked my Halifax account again this morning to see they have refunded even more interest :T. Bringing my DFD forward by 3 months. Not a massive amount but I'm pleased with it. Things like this boost my mood too.

Three months is wonderful - so pleased to hear that!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

I was quite pleased with it to be honest. Hopefully the date will edge a little earlier as I go along
Thank you both :AEmptying my lake with a teaspoon0 -
On another good note. I completed enough Yougov surveys and have cashed out my £50  I have tried lots of survey sites and kept getting the message sorry you are not compatible with this survey. But with Yougov I've never been kicked out of one.
The £50 when it reaches my bank is going straight to my F&F account to build it a little more :T
Absolutely shattered though and its only Wednesday. Having 2 weeks off is lovely but it takes me a while to get back in the swing of things. Its full on at work at the moment and will be for the next few months  Shouldn't moan really as it keeps me on my toes and there's only so much Jeremy Kyle you can watch when you're at home during the dayNo little kids around anymore to keep me busy so I get a little bored at home. (I miss having little kiddies around) Got to wait for Grandchildren but I wont hold my breath :rotfl:
Will spend a bit of time tonight playing around with YNAB and seeing if I can make my finances stretch any further

You can have mine Motivated she is enough to keep anyone off the sofa. Latest hilarious antics, she now shouts 'hiya' in a very Vera Duckworth sort of way, whenever we get home. It creases my husband and son up so much. Goodness knows where the accent has appeared from, she's never been north of the Watford Gap." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

:rotfl: how funny I love it. My DS used to think he was American when he was little.
That's the sort of things I miss. I'm broody but to me a granny now but maybe a while yet and I will blow my budgets big time if I was to find out I was going to be a nanny so maybe best to wait. ( I say it like I have a choice)

Hi diary world
Long weekend is here :j
Hopefully we have a bit of decent weather, it always makes me feel a bit better when the sun shines. Had a nutty week at work and plenty more to come. I honestly don't know where the week went, I like to be busy but
Need to do my budget for the week ahead. Have paid my weekly things before I checked finances etc ( naughty). DH was paid and I just went into auto pilot and paid the things I needed to. Haven't done any damage but I must get into the habit of checking finances before I spend anything. Hopefully I will be adding a little more to my savings accounts I love watching them grow even if it's by a fiver.
DMP payment is due to go on Monday but being a bank holiday it will be Tuesday now. I'm so eager to get another payment off as this will bring my total down into the next thousand
Must check grocery stocks before I even think about leaving the house
Nothing much exciting planned for the next few days but just nice to have time to myself

A lot of people as their DMP progresses elect to go self managed as they can do F and F as the debts get smaller and some disappear. This might be a good aim eventually. Also if you are finding every month you have lots left over you can stash it away to give you an emergency buffer and when your review comes up elect to increase the monthly payment to clear the debt quicker. It shows your budgeting is working though if you are easily living within income now.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Hi Es
Thank you. I haven't even looked at a CC for months
I am so impatient though and I know I mustn't be. Since starting our DMP things have been so much easier I can't tell you, whereas before I was constantly logging into CCs and checking that I had enough stashed away just to pay them when they came in every month. Now I am able to save a little each time and to be honest it's growing slowly. and I also have 4 savings accounts. I use these for different things. One holds our EF, one is for car insurance, tax etc I call this my yearly account. I have a Christmas one and a DMP one that I call my F&F account. Because I get paid on the 15th and my DMP payment doesn't come out until the 1st I put it in here along with any extras I am able to add to it. This month once my DMP payment goes I will still have £126 left in there. :T My plan is to carry on doing this and keep building it ready for (hopefully) being in the position to offer F&Fs.
To be honest we've never been in a better place financially and I actually sleep soundly at night ( hot flushes permitting)
Thanks for your words of encouragement if it wasn't for the people on here I dread to think where we would be

Hi motivated am a lurker on your thread, you are doing so well. As you are in this for the long haul and are managing so well with your finances, if it was me, I would still be adding a little to my emergency fund every month. You only need a couple of things to clap out and it could be wiped out. Still save for f and f's too but maybe skim off a bit to add to your emergency fund. In an ideal world we should all have 3-6 months salary saved to cover job losses, illness etc . Obviously in an ideal world
I love reading your diary, carry on with the great job you are doing :TTotal weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.0
