I wonder whether we eat more cheap carbs while pouring over MSE which, while wonderful, isn't generally used to speed up the metabolism? - hence weight gain while debt busting.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Thanks cherryfudge, You may be onto something there. Thinking about it I do sit and pick unnecessarily whilst sitting on MSE. Need to be more aware of this.
Although I have made a batch of ratatouille this morning, put anything and everything in it. Celery, potatoes, peppers, onions, mushrooms, courgettes, tomatoes, sweetcorn, carrots and cooked it all in vegetable stock and a little tomato puree. All free on SW too. I love it and I now have 5 pots of it which I will freeze some. I may even blend some for soup. Very filling too.
Its a start at least.

Well that's my 2 week holiday over. Back to work for me in the morning. Actually quite looking forward to getting back to the routine of the days. Long weekend next week as it's Mayday :T.
Will definitely be getting my eating in check this week. Taking my own lunch to work and this stops me heading to the canteen and blowing my diet (again)
Not too much happening on the financial front at the moment, sometimes I feel a bit stuck as I would make little overpayments as and where I could but now with the DMP I feel I am frozen so to speak with my regular monthly DMP payment. (Impatient again) That actually makes me sound as if I'm ungrateful to SC and am moaning about my DMP. Actually it couldn't be further from the truth. I love my DMP and it has actually saved us from ourselves.
I think I need to continue to add to my savings accounts and build them up and think of this as my overpayments. It's only another 8 days then I will be making another DMP payment so stop moaning woman
Not making much sense here I know I just prefer to get my thoughts down, out of my head so I don't keep going over it. Especially at bed time.
Off to bed now as I have a 5am alarm call set. Night all

It's totally normal to want to make a dent in the debts, even when funds are tight and it doesn't make sense to push yourself. I agree, use the savings account to squirrel your money away, never know when you might need it.
Have a good night." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

I will do just this Bob. I think I was just having a moment and have put it out of my mind and it's onwards and downwards for the debt

If you save nto the EF and don't need to spend it, might you one day have enough in there to offer a F&F? If you look at it that way, your savings can be similar to overpayment as well as a buffer zone for those unexpected costs that happen to us all.Taking my own lunch to work and this stops me heading to the canteen and blowing my diet (again)
...as is learning from plans that didn't work out.
We have toast on tap at work (I know, I know - funny place to keep it) and if I don't have some healthy alternative in my locker, the toast will get me. Having said that, there's a tin of mac & cheese in my locker right now so maybe I need to bring in the crispbreads.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Hi Cherryfudge Toast on tap  I would be at it all day :rotfl:
and you are so right about planning I work with secondary GCSE students who are taught that saying every day about fail to plan etc. Doesn't always work for them either
The F&Fs I so hope to be able to do one day will be amazing and yes I will be squirrelling money away as often as I can so I can (hopefully) make this happen. I think last night I was just having a moment..
On the plus side, I checked my Halifax account again this morning to see they have refunded even more interest :T. Bringing my DFD forward by 3 months. Not a massive amount but I'm pleased with it. Things like this boost my mood too.
Enjoy your mac & cheese, I'm hungry now
