It's not a combination. If you pass the test then (if applicable) any competency example(s) will be looked at.

OP which role is it that you have applied for? Some roles do have different processes.

Its the work coach job... I've applied before and normally its you passed or you didn't pass the csist test and thats the end of it but on the application page my application is still there and it says "on hold after csist" I got 40% so expected it to be automatically rejected but it hasn't been 🤔🤔

My one says the same and so does someone else I know and that person scored "better than 97% of people taking the test"

I am not sure what the pass point was for those one although my feedback says :
You have scored better than 75% of people who have previously taken this test. Your overall performance on this test met at least the minimum required standard for the grade you have applied for. Your score will be banked for six months and you will not need to complete the test for any future applications you make at the grade that you have applied for within that time.

So I have met "at least the minimum" but have no idea what that minimum is.

EDIT - just checked, it now says "Application being reviewed"

When did you do yours? Maybe they do it in date order? I have done mine on the 28th and the other person I know on the 30th. Hers also now says " Application being reviewed". Only changed today.

40% has been sufficient to progress in the past. Given the popularity of this role it may not be this time, but you never know!

I'm not convinced that many are rejected on the basis of the tests. When I attended, admittedly about 10 years ago, the invitation letter said we had to bring 2 forms of ID, writing implements and a calculator. There was one guy who said he was actually applying for the third time, but hadn't brought any of the above. He still did all the tests. True that I never saw him after that. :)

You will know if you have successfully passed the CSIT text if the next email you get tells you to log into CS Jobs and it gives you a deadline date to take the next set of tests (Usually a Numerical Reasoning Test and a Verbal Reasoning Test).

(Last job I applied for I scored 33% more than others who had taken the verbal tests and 52% more than others on the numerical tests and still failed)

If you pass these tests that then when they look at your competencies, hence the reason why they ask you to write them at the start of the process.
They may initially sift one lead competency they will review ( for example building capability for all) and if you score highly enough and pass the sift then they will look at the others.
At the sift they normally look for you to score 5 or higher to be successful.

As for how long it takes to pass/fail , your in the lap of the gods as this is the Civil Service after all !.

Hope this helps and good luck !.

I'm currently "in the lap of the gods" as we speak been waiting for a start date from another EO position i applied for since January!! Thought whilst i'm waiting i'd fill out for the Work Coach position!! Never had to do a verbal or numerical test before so thats new to hear, hoping I don't have to do it

At this moment my status is still "On Hold after Csist" very confusing... Wonder if they've forgotten about me lol!!

The CSIT scores shows as "Hold" because you have passed, and I *think* its banked and used for future applications.

My one says "application being reviewed" still.
I remember few years back when I applied for one of the jobs with CS and by the time they have set up interviews, I already got another job. It took like 3 months that time for them to offer interview dates.

Skimmy Sim - were you already offered another role with them then? You say you are waiting for a start date, so you had an interview and was offered a job?
