Suffolk Lass, how amazing - lovely to hear that your cat has responded to the change in circumstances and the treatments.  And go you, for 48 jars of tomatoes!  That's an impressive harvest.

Your big spend!  I'm wondering what you've bought - I'm very tempted towards getting something of that sort myself, a plugnplay type.  Would love to know which brand (and model, if you feel able to say) you've plumped for.

Have a good time up in Scotland.

Great news that cat is sorted - the alternative is not pleasant (needle into bladder when they are completely blocked!). Don’t feel guilty though - it is hard to spot and they are so good at hiding problems!

Have a great trip away 😊

48 jars of tomatoes!! That could be me next year! I only bottled 4 jars this year as a first attempt, but if it turns out I've done them right & they keep, I can see me getting into it.

Away in a charming cottage. V quick update; pup cut his front paw pad on glass in the grass in local park to my Mum. Poor thing. I managed to clean it and stop the bleeding but he could not leave it alone so trip to the vets next morning after I dressed it to let the licky swelling go down. He was sedated, examined, glued, stitched, jabbed and revived. Came away with cone of shame, pain killers and antibiotics in tablet form, with big green dressing. £210 less of holiday money! The dressing came off within 24 hours and various other options employed. My Mum's stretchy gauze bandages are the best but so are the stretchy self sticking crepe bandages on top so we are changing it daily and checking carefully for any signs of infection.

I think he knows that the cone of shame gets deployed if he keeps chewing it. All the boots to protect it are rubbish. A small plastic bag with a rubber band protects it in wet toilet trips and a new rucksack with a top opening, worn back to front by DH allows for trips out ion wet ground. Not what we hoped for on hols but so far so good.

Meanwhile the Fel!way thing has been opened and plugged in at home by son for cat. We are close to unexpected spend of £500 so far and will need our vet or a second, local to here to remove stitches, Friday (here) or Monday (home).

Thank you MSE. The emergency fund is further sapped but there to catch us.

Poor pup and poor you! Not what you needed on holiday, but glad he's on the mend. And good news that the EF is there for you.

I think we here are all so grateful to MSE at this point for giving us the knowledge and the sense to be able to get through these trying times!

Poor pup and poor you.     Redefines holiday fun for sure but glad all on the mend and that you had the EF to catch you.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Oh no, not what you want for pup and not on holiday. Childrens socks are good for little paws & then you don't need to use lots of wrap over it all you can just tape it at the top (I use the same approach to protect chair legs where required)
    - Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted
