My friend's gardener knows the sister of the innocent van driver and he has two cracked ribs as well as whiplash. The (female) driver remains in hospital with multiple fractures. Life is precious!
Several people were interviewed yesterday, in preparation for a tv programme that might not happen if Bojo goes - it was the pylon proposal and the community remains exercised about it, along with our MP - all opposed.
Money is leaving rather a lot faster than it should and DH's massive-smassive credit card bill from his bike trip has been cleared. The second card (15% of the first) is still to go and my CC has the van insurance (£305.pp), oil (£535.pp), some beekeeping kit (£166.pp) and the dog neutering (£156) - all one-off things as opposed to regular additions but the upshot is over £1800 this month. I was hoping for £7-800!
As my diary title suggests, I need to get a grip!
In good news, I managed to get two singles to participate in the dinner in the Village so the plans for Saturday are very straightforward now with 15 pairs taking part. In the end, DH and I have split up to pair with two singles and it will be fine! It just means I need to make two courses instead of one!
I finally marshalled DH and we planted the herbs I bought to replace the dead ones (they died when he moved their pots away from the house so it could be painted, to find they had rooted through the bottom). The dead ones were two different sages and a big pot of thyme. I may have bought a couple of others too which included oregano and French Marjoram, we have common Marjoram in flower in the wilded lawn. The bees love it's little mauve flowers that are so like verbena. The dog discovered fruit on the alpine strawberry and I put the sweet woodruff up high to stop him snuffling it. A good day was had by all.

So the FB link for the stamps I used appears to be a scam. I have just messaged my Credit Card Company asking if I can receive a refund of the transaction using consumer rights legislationSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Oh what a damn nuisance, @Suffolk_lass. I don't know where these scammers get their ideas. Who would think of postage stamps as a way of increasing their ill-gotten gains? I do hope you can get your money back. From the offer you described, it did sound plausible. Bloody scammers. I recently had to have a new credit card because it had been fraudulently used for 2 transactions, which I thankfully spotted while they were still at the 'pending' stage. There really does seem to be a lot of this activity around atm.
