I find fishcake- making very messy. The only upside is that it's not as bad as spicy chickpea burgers. That mixture contains turmeric, so I end up yellow as well as messy!
Very interesting reading about your bee-keeping.

Thanks for joining in @SusieT. Do you know if they were honeybees or bumble bees? Our shed roofs all seem to attract buff-tailed bumble bees (Bombus terrestris). They will die out in late August or early September if the latter. Well worth leaving alone. Here's a link to the bumblebee conservation trust with a good picture. They are the smaller bumbles that we tend to see. We also get ground nesting ones here (under some boards in the cart lodge that DH parks his bike on, so when you go past they squeal as they get squashed a bit).

It's a bit warm outside, hence I am back in for a little break

I keep a box of nitrile gloves in the kitchen, primarily for beekeeping but beetroot, turmeric and gardening for them once the bee glue (propolis) has been cleaned off but they are starting to go brittle is my protection of choice.

Not sure how many of you send actual letters and cards by post (we send fewer these days but maintain Christmas cards with lots of people we rarely or never see) anyway, Royal Mail offer 60% off popped up in my FB feed and I checked it out. I have just ordered 200 first class and 200 second class after first checking that they will no longer time expire on 1st Feb next year (they overturned that policy). The webpsge suggests it expired on 12 June but the advert was this morning and the order went through. I also checked out that this IS actually RM before buying, and I used a CC as it is over £100 - Here is the link for anyone interested 60% off stamps

Although I'm not sure I can bring myself to spend £68 on stamps in one go 😮 200 would probably last me about 7 years 😂

We discussed it. We send about 70 cards at Christmas. So does my Mum (plus about the same in birthday cards) so I think I plan to send her 100 first class stamps for her birthday. I sent her about 40 humorous birthday cards for Christmas. Now that Royal Mail have decided the generic stamps won't time expire I am happy to keep them until we use them
