So this morning I missed my target of 7lbs in week one of my diet by 0.8 pounds. I put it down to eating more filling foods while it is cold and our heating remains broken (since Christmas Eve except for one day when the engineer came and it behaved itself!) - a PCB is being priced. Don't ask!
In the meantime I have been through the sugar withdrawal headache and my knees (always the measure for me) and hips have stopped grumbling when I stand up. I'm a little disappointed but I should not be. It is several bags of sugar that is no longer in my pants.
Must keep going though! No pathetic backsliding here. I tried on two pairs of exercise bottoms I have bought and the "compression" ones which are a size smaller then I wear do sort of fit, but in a way that feels like some sort of girdle round my tum and bum. The waist is not tight so confident I could breath but less so that they will stay up. I will keep them for another week before deciding.
In the meantime spends are very low here (with just the milkman and greengrocer at the market featuring so far since Christmas) and good news that our local Dr surgery has been approved as a vaccination hub. No further symptoms with my cousin and daily calls to Auntie are boosting her away from her anxiety a bit.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Thanks @IzzyBee and welcome to my no-longer-in-debt diary - lots of meandering around life and saving money here but with the relief and pleasure of no more mortgage or debt - I might have to see if you have a diary now too.
Re the weight-loss, I just need to keep the smug-filter turned off for a few weeks. I did it before and so I know I can do it some moreSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Thanks @IzzyBee I've found your diary and bookmarked it to follow you.
Thanks @greent - long way and time to go but it does act as a bit of a motivator to keep it going.
Must go out today for a longish walk with our neighbour's dog - it's like walking Tigger! He's into everything - last time he dived into a rabbit hole up to his shoulders and was completely uncontrollable after that (so excited) - just every indentation had to be investigated in case there was a rabbit in it! Great fun though! 🐾🐾
DH observed how cold the lounge was yesterday (still no CH) and turned out the fuse had gone in the convector heater in there ( I investigated, and changed it- no, I don't know why he didn't either!). So he took up residence on the dining room table (I added a protective cloth), assembling bits that arrived flat packed for the hive (frames with new wax foundation and a brood box for the new hive) - I have plans to divide ours into two so all our eggs are not in one basket, so to speak.
Money ticking along and I started a click and collect order for next Monday. My neighbour who is in the Village emergency group has just posted that there is a high chance of snow at the end of Jan into Feb here is EA (not quite Beast from the East but not far off) so I will revisit that basket and treat it as a monthly big shop and also tell me vulnerable neighbours (most are getting stuff collected or delivered) so that there is no pressing need to get staples when the weather turns. He is a sailor and usually right about weather things (reading up for his navigation exams he learned to interpret the weather fronts and is in various groups that assist.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Interesting about the weather SL, and the BBC long-range forecast seems to back this up. Doubtful that it would affect our deliveries here, but will make sure the parents/in-laws are well stocked up on their next delivery/shop (try as I might my Dad will not shop online and wants to go himself).
The dog does sound rather fun - and great to borrow a dog rather than have the responsibility of owning one - a win-win for everyone, I imagine.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Happy to report that everyone has behaved today. Even the dog hasn't tried to disrupt school by tugging at the kids pants to chase him! DD has taken 5 steps back from the garage but the door remains open...MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......4
