Right - so many small jars were covered in dust and cobwebs they all went in the dishwasher overnight. Ready to go but I have a list of chores to get through first and must persevere with my ribbon-tying bows on my crystal tree decorations as well.
Got some outdoor chores first and DH has two huge tree stumps he and three others helped get out yesterday to get over to the field where Friday's bonfire is due to take place. My (Achilles) heel is not very good or I would have helped. He is going to replant the Bay they managed to get out by pulling - I just made tea and provided biscuits and beer and cake!

I have made nine small jars of body scrub - I used a cup of salt to half a cup of coconut oil to 7-8 drops of pink grapefruit essential oil, mixing the essential oil into the melted coconut oil and then pouring over the jar of salt (that quantity is for a small 10oz jar) - I just filled the jars with salt and then liquid so it was all the way through and a tiny puddle on top, so it will be nice and moist.
I am thinking of putting a jar in a gift bag with 2-3 small bars of my soap (which is peppermint and eucalyptus this time) - I have some tissue paper to wrap the soap in, and plenty of coloured ribbons to tie them up.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)

That sounds absolutely lovely - and unlike soap, hard to get wrong
I'm not as brave as you (or as practiced!).

I just thought "here goes nothing!" as there is no chemical reaction and nothing to burn anyone. I did consider chopping up some sprigs of rosemary but I decided to keep it really simple as it's my first go!
I reckon I've got more food-grade salt left to use instead of Maldon, so it is almost free when I reflect on the savings from bulk buying.
I have thought twice about buying nuts in bulk now I don't have breakfast every work day as I just was not getting through them - this meant the macadamias had a slightly oily coating as I was rather slow getting to the last batch of them - I just need to buy a smaller quantity and make sure I time it right - ie going to use some straight away.
Pumpkin seeds and pine nut kernels I use loads of (in bread, and in cakes as a partial substitute for dried fruit).Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)

We are off to a neighbouring island today to meet up with a group of friends. The people hosting only returned from a city-break yesterday so brunch is being provided by the visitors. I have made a large dish of lasagne, adding lentils and roasted vegetables to make it less meaty but still using 500g of minced beef.
I will attend the remembrance day service first. An important annual ritual for me. DH won't come. Normally he would be out on his bike, attempting the M25 "Ring of Red" but as we are going for brunch there is not time this year.
Our preparation of the ground ready for the new greenhouse is progressing - DH has it marked out but we need to put down sand and cement to bed in breeze blocks for the base before we can assemble the greenhouse and move my stuff from the old one. That is not going to happen before Wednesday as we have our tour of the refuse incinerator site tomorrow. Lots of questions to ask...Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)
