We got a Supercard...by Travelex.(google it as I can't post a link being a new poster) yes that is what it is called, we found it on the MSE site. it is linked to your bank account, is a mastercard so accepted most everywhere, we got it as no fees on ATM withdrawals or spending. where as our bank Santander charge us a whopping 1.25 pounds every non sterling transaction. saved us loads on a longer EU country trip.0

Supercard has a 2.99% ATM withdrawal fee.
Great for purchases though.0 -
The Metrobank fee free debit card current account (SEPA countries) includes Poland - might be worth considering.
The major stumbling block of course is that you need to visit a branch in person, no online or postal applications - and all their branches are based in and around London and the Home Counties.
The Nationwide FlexPlus account also has fee free currency deal on the debit card, but it's £10 a month - mind you it comes with a bunch of goodies like free worldwide travel insurance for under 75s - no surprise it is flagged up as a best buy option.0 -
Are you confused with the pilot scheme a couple of years ago when it was fee free ?We got a Supercard...by Travelex.(google it as I can't post a link being a new poster) yes that is what it is called, we found it on the MSE site. it is linked to your bank account, is a mastercard so accepted most everywhere, we got it as no fees on ATM withdrawals or spending. where as our bank Santander charge us a whopping 1.25 pounds every non sterling transaction. saved us loads on a longer EU country trip.
We managed to get a Supercard when it was on trial - no fees.
However Travelex then revised terms and conditions and imposed a 2.99% fee for foreign ATM usage when it went fully operational - so we dropped it immediately.
In respect of cash from an ATM, Martin would classify this as a card from hell methinks !!!
OK for goods and services though.0
