It wouldn't be enforceable.
They have the right to negatively change the T&Cs at two months notice but the explicit "October 2018" offer over-rides that.0 -
When I went to brussels last summer I used my halifax card for me and 4 friends. I withdrew whatever money my friends needed from the ATM and when we got back to the hotel that evening, just did a quick transfer via internet banking.
In hindsight, I should have had a backup card. Because I'm sure halifax don't like me. Upping my limit one month, lowering it 2 consecutive months then upping it again. I'm sure even within the t&c's they shouldn't be able to do that... but oh well. Their card.0 -

The question is not changing the T+Cs, but whether there is something in the T+Cs already that allow them to remove the promotional offer - ie whether the Oct 2018 date is subject to existing T+Cs. This is, of course, the way most promotional offers work - ie BT deals - where they can be removed if you miss payments. They would also always have the right to close the account or lower limits as a result of risk assessment.
But I agree to the extent that any arbitrary early termination of the deal wouldn't stand up, regardless of the T+Cs and in that way you are in a stronger position than with traditional "travel" cards.0 -

Santander ZERO is available to newcomers again. A good alternative to Clarity - no fee/loading on foreign purchases or ATM withdrawals. Interest from the date of withdrawal in the case of cash.0

Weswap pre-paid card might be good?
Fees and Limits compared to most other options mentioned would put me off.

...alright ... must go with the flow...
Halifax Clarity or Nationwide are slightly good or you could take cash
and get a safe, abroad and take care of your hand luggage at the airport.
MS credit card for a slightly better rate and 0% on cash !!
or another month to pay. if your are a existing customer.
Do a search.0 -

I assume you refer to the credit card ?
Not the debit card which was pulled a couple or so years back.0 -

Yep.

Since it's original launch, ZERO has been periodically closed to newcomers. It's available again for the time being.0 -
I'd recommend the Aqua cashback card. Fee-free on purchases, and you also get 0.5% cashback on everything you buy.0
