Job for this weekend is to unpack all my office clothes and make sure they still fit
(this should be ok, although it is sure to feel different going back to smart office wear after 2 years in loungewear) and sort out any dry cleaning, missing buttons etc before I head back. As the long term plan is to only work 2 days a week in the office, I might look at downsizing my work wardrobe in the future but for now I'll sort out what I need for the return to office and then think about that when times are a bit calmer!

If it helps, I currently pay EE £8.50 a month for unlimited texts, unlimited calls and 10gb of data SIM only - might be useful for bargaining power if they were willing to match perhaps? Tesco do seem very keen to keep banging the drum for how unreasonable the “big networks” are right now, so you never know! (And yes, my £8.50 is shortly to increase to £9.xx - still decent though!)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

That is helpful, thank you!1

Argh, found a great SIM only deal but I just realised that it will leave a hard check on my credit file which I don't want to do before our mortgage goes through
I will have to be careful with my usage for a few more weeks3 -
Is it worth looking at Giffgaff? One month goody bag and work out your usage on a month by month basis3

Thanks @peb - Giffgaff is a good shout! I'll take a look at them1

MSE Tax Calculator for 2022/23 is now available, so I can get a really accurate picture of how much the National Insurance increase will affect me https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/tax-calculator/
I had a Tax Code adjustment recently and it looks like that will offset most of the NI rise initially - but HRMC seem to have been playing Tax Code tennis with me over the last couple of years so that may well change again in a few months.2 -
I’m with giffgaff too and I like them. And they do referral codes where both people get £5 off, pm me if you decide to go with them 😂
I didn’t realise MSE had a tax calculator, off to check it out!Debt at LBM (Dec 2018): £23,167

Thank you @astrocytic_kitten - I'll definitely let you know
For now I decided not to do a new phone contract, it is probably overkill but I don't want to do anything that might jeopardise the mortgage application. So with any luck by the end of April I will be able to upgrade
I also found this tax calculator really good in the past, they've now updated their calculator for 2022/23 : https://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/salary.php4 -
