Thank you Fortune and AC!
Did some Christmas shopping yesterday as I had a voucher and found a discount codes. Even though the money is sitting in my Christmas pot, I feel a bit anxious at doing such a lot of out of character spending! I’m tracking everything on a spreadsheet and reconciling on my spends credit card, just need my brain to catch up with the fact that this spending is allowed, planned, budgeted for and that using a 0% purchase credit card that I pay off each month is also ok.4 -
GC all those things are not only very much OK they are part of the process, totally! It's great that your brain is now putting the brakes on when you spend though - that's definitely the hoped for result from all this, I think!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thank you for the reassurance EH! I agree, my brain has well and truly accepted the MSE programming I’ve been trying to input for the last 4.5 yearsEssexHebridean said:GC all those things are not only very much OK they are part of the process, totally! Sounds like you have MSE running through you now. Even though we can well afford to spend at Christmas and on things for the house and car I am still looking for ways to save on it. Definitely! It feels like such a waste not to take advantage of cashback, rewards points/vouchers and discounts - as long as they really are the cheapest way of buying something of course!enthusiasticsaver said:Sounds like you have MSE running through you now. It is a bit time consuming but I feel the same about survey sites and focus groups, I don't do all of them because it has to fit around other commitments but I seem to get at least £25 a month from these and sometimes it has been much more (this month I've had £110 from focus groups, £50 from yougov and £5 from PA, plus a £10 amazon voucher from ipsos - not bad for maybe 15 mins a day!)3 -
I started doing a few surveys from ipsos since last week .
I've been building up points . Some of the surveys say " that's not quite a match" ( or similar wording ) and are halted after a couple of questions .I spun the prediction wheel with mixed results at times . No vouchers etc just yet .Plus when I go to take another survey , there are often none available at this time ..
I downloaded the ipsos app , which I find a waste of time .My first " proper " job was for a market research co. when I was a teenager ..😼2 -
I quite like getting the “no match” surveys sometimes, a quick 5 or 10 points and not much effort! But it is good when I get a nice 100 point one too, or a product test.I’m good at poll predictor when it is an occupation question (because the answer always seems to be 0%!) but not so good at the others - still no big prize win for me though! 😂2

Ipsos drives me mad, the no matches can take a good 5 minutes and the ones that loop you round to different surveys for ages and then decide it’s not right and give you 5 points..grrr. It’s rare when I get one that actually pays out. On the other hand, I do enjoy getting the Amazon vouchers when I build them up 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I have that frustration too! There is one particular type (that takes me to a survey with different branding) that just seem to be unending screening questions only to be told I'm unsuccessful. I think it is worse when I use the app, when I do it on my laptop they seem to be a bit more reliable - not sure if this is because they don't properly tell you when something isn't mobile compatible on the app? But saying that, I generally do quite well with them and can cash out £5 a month so I stick with itWinterWarrior said:Ipsos drives me mad, the no matches can take a good 5 minutes and the ones that loop you round to different surveys for ages and then decide it’s not right and give you 5 points..grrr.
