I'm currently paying 5.75 a unit on EquiGas but with the new Ebico Zero (RobinHood) tariff I'll only be paying 4.97.
As I understand it, this new tariff from Ebico(Robin Hood Energy) is only available to PPM customers at present
Edit: Looks like there have been some important developments at Ebico yesterday
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5608866
I need to get up to speed with these latest developments
(SSE no longer Ebico's supply partner)
Edit 2: Ebico Zero is another new tariff (via Robin Hood Energy) exclusively for credit meter customers and still has a zero standing charge.
But a lower price, and a further discount now for paying by DD. (but only a minute DD discount)
Edit 3: Pretty sure Equigas should be 5.2p/kWh - maybe worth double checking what they have been charging you0 -
I've received an email today from EBICO informing me of their split from SSE. Initially disappointed really, because I get my electricity from SSE and I quite liked the convenience of being able to view my gas and electricity details on the same website.
Oh well, I suppose I'll get used to looking at a different website for my gas, and at least I still have the option of no standing charge for my gas supply and it's looking also that I'll be paying less for the gas I use, at least until December, 2017.0 -
Anyone supplied via an IGT (Independent Gas Transporter) been advised of this change of partnership?
If so, are Ebico making any extra charge for supply via an IGT?
Their new terms seem to allow for this extra possible charge:2.7.g if you live in a recently built residential development there
may be charges we have to pay for using the gas and electricity
network which we need to supply energy to you
Although, it seems to just have been copied from RHE terms of supply0 -

I am totally confused.
I have the same email from Ebico toady and they say I will make a saving. Call me a suspicious old *** but I decided to check. The rate Ebico are quoting looks very slightly more not less. I've contacted SSE to ask them when my fixed rates end. I'm also around £700 in credit with SSE!
Would you mind checking the rates Ebico sent you and compare it to your SSE rates to see if you are in the same boat ie with what appears to be a misleading email.
Thanks

Rates vary by supply region. You can check them yourself on the Ebico website0 -

But their invitation was a personalised one with actual rates of the new offer. When compared to our current SSE rates, they are more not less.0 -

Hi, according to my last bill from SSE-EBICO, my TCR is 5.20p per Kwh.
According to email received today from Ebico, my new unit rate will be 4.967p per Kwh
In truth, I'm all a little confused by this.
Also received this info from Ebico....
On your current EquiGas tariff, powered by SSE, your Personal Projection is £39.99. With your new Ebico Zero tariff, powered by Robin Hood Energy, this will be lowered to £38.20, an equivalent of £3.18 per month. Those figures include VAT at 5% and are based on an estimate of your annual consumption. Please see a breakdown of the rates for Ebico Zero below.
Hope this helps. As you can guess, I'm a very low user.0 -

What supply region are you in (or first part of postcode)
What rates have you been quoted?
What rates do you believe you are paying currently?0 -

This is a (second) property in TQ4.
Electricity on our last bill (December) was for 17.15 from SSE compared to 17.19 quoted from ebico.
Gas was 4.95 compared to a lower rate of 4.967 from ebico.
I'm not aware of being told of any increase since that bill.0 -

Rates you were quoted were inclusive of VAT @ 5%
The existing rates you quote are presumably excluding VAT (the gas certainly is)
The bill uses ex-vat rates and then adds the VAT at the end of the calculation0
