Vodafone Not Big Value Bundle

When I bought a smartphone i bought a ten pound big value bundle. At the time I thought it a good deal and I've still got a lot of minutes and data left over. Problem is, as i've just discovered, they don't carry over after the 30 day period. I wasn't told this, and I explicitly asked the sales person if this was the case when I made my purchase. So it isn't really a pay as you go service because you can't. If you don't top up per month, you lose all your existing credit, which is completely stupid.
I can't get a network code just yet because I haven't had the phone a full thirty days (that will be sunday). But are there any better deals with Vodafone for a proper PAYG arrangement? I don't need loads of minutes/texts/data either.

I have a similar deal ut it was pretty clear on the website and confirmed in the shop that the bundle only lasts 30 days. I am just going to get the unlock after the 30 days and use my 3 mobile card as it is cheaper. The unlock via vodafone is free after the 30 days and you do it via the phone you have bought.0
