  • doh, MSE!

where's the grabbit deal/bargain which is what this board is for?
  • It doesn't surprise me, Yodel collected a parcel and promptly lost it, despite being covered by their insurance they refused a claim on the basis of us not being able to prove it wasn't delivered!

    You couldn't make it up.

Royal Mail paid out for a lost parcel, much better service.

Hi, we've moved it to Shop but don't drop. Thanks :)
Could you do with a Money Makeover?

Yodel are terrible but they're cheap. It's the result of customers demanding free delivery and lower prices.

Royal Mail is great for me, mainly that I can pick up my parcel from the sorting office which I prefer than random neighbours.
  • I had a parcel despatched to me by Way of Yodel on 13th Dec 2016 received said parcel 14th Jan 2017.

These rankings do not reflect our experience. DPD (shown as best) took 4 days recently to deliver fresh flowers. They were dead on arrival. UPS ranked 4th best, we call the useless parcel service for a litany of past failures.

People want cheap, they're going to suffer the consequences. I guess I'm lucky that Yodel drivers around here are very good. I often have the choice to pay extra for a different carrier, but I prefer Yodel anyway. Saturday delivery at no extra cost, so ideal for those out during the week.

I can sympathise with the drivers too. Admittedly I've not checked whether or not the comment is true, but last time I spoke to the driver he told me that they're 'not allowed' to take more than 3 parcels back to the depot. So if nobody's home, and there's no neighbour to leave the parcel with, they have no option but to find somewhere to leave it.

Wow! If that's the best that MSE can do by way of "News", it must be a slow day somewhere in MSE-land.

I despise Yodel with a passion. Made a purchase, seller advised up to 10 days for del however they shipped the next day with Yodel the carrier. Bumped into a Yodel driver making a del to my pickup address and asked if he had my parcel, told me it has caught his eye in the depot - the reptiles then sat on my parcel for more than a week and del on day 10.

What a crap way to run a service.
